I wasn't able to find it but Marlin magazine probably rated Kona, HI in first place IIRC. Also, re: daytime deep dropping for swords, you're dropping with a light that illuminates your bait/skirt in those deep low light conditions. Scent matters too. The swords have a giant eye that is very light sensitive due to spending the majority of their time in the deep.

The only place that could out fish Venice Louisiana would be Southwest Florida. Charlotte harbor Boca grande region has all of the species and a pretty decent offshore scene. There may even be some fish in Charlotte harbor that Venice Louisiana don't have.
