Bastila Shan has made a return in this short fan animation for my KOTOR adaptation/remake using Unreal Engine.
I'm currently working on creating a Knights of the Old Republic based Mini-Series using Unreal Engine's Virtual Production Capabilities. The first step is creating a trailer sequence as proof of concept before we begin work for the full series.

That’s the only thing that made me upset about KOTOR 2 is you never find Revan. That would have been awesome if you found Revan at the end and could use him with your new character to fight nihilus. Would have been a perfect ending.

And they most likely are. The problem with such a massive brand like Star Wars is there’s so many people giving opinions on how it should be like. From different executives to directors to writers. Looking at interviews on the people behind the production of a project gives you a different perspective. I looked at a Kevin Feige Film Academy interview, highly recommend watching it, and he said him and everyone involved was very lucky to have had the chance to create the MCU. The thing you need to create what you want is a good team of people who work well together. He said he was thankful every director came in and was able to take in feedback while still trying to put their spin on it without warping it. There’s a multitude of reasons as to why any movie or project can fail. One of them is if the people involved aren’t on the same page it’s not gonna turn out pretty. I remember when I watched a Daisy Ridley interview and she said they switched stuff around constantly for Rey. They contemplated if she was gonna be related to Obi-Wan, Han or Leia, etc. This is why I don’t like when people complain about something they don’t understand. If one is so passionate about something they express their disappointment that’s great but first try to understand how a movie is made. It’s like a doctor who tries to figure out what illness a person has without knowing what the inside of a human body looks like. (Bad analogy maybe? Yeah I suck at giving examples but I hope you get what I mean). This is why I believe it’s a lot easier for tv and games to do their own thing, (I believe animation is even easier but don’t quote me on that as I’m not sure). They still have a strong pull of differencing opinions, like in the Tomb Raider Reboot there were so many people saying no this is how we should do Lara. I like the quote “It’s a miracle any movie gets made.” It’s true for other projects of any other production team as well. Stuff gets cancelled and moved around.

If Disney was smart they would be looking to the fans to help make Star Wars better. I get that Kathleen Kennedy has had her hands in many big films that are fundamental to pop culture, but she has NEVER been the guiding light of these ventures.

If Disney wants to keep their franchise alive they need to start bringing in fans like Unreal Cinema to start doing their movies, shows, and games. I really can't wait to see more of Kotor, one of my favorite games!

I'd say they are doing a pretty good job as is of keeping it alive. Bad Batch, Rebels, The Mandalorian, the upcoming Kenobi Series. Also EA's stranglehold on SW gaming is finally gone.. and we are getting a KOTOR remake, and hopefully other great Star Wars games in the future. Star Wars is in a good place for a franchise that is as old as it is. Look at the alternative.. Star Trek for instance xD. Not doing so hot.

Some guy on reddit had the idea that you should contact the people from the canceled KOTOR Fan remaster project. They have made a ton of stuff. You wouldn't have to remake every asset yourself then. Looks very promising.

I've done a side by side comparison of models for Bastila. They look very different to the aperion models so no. I believe the apereon guys were told to destroy all their models and assets so nah this stuff is all original

man that choreography and movement work is amazing, even in this short clip of her just swinging the lightsaber around, it kind of blows my mind how quickly and fluidly she moves, it fits perfect to how these old Republic Jedi were described and how a normal person would see a Jedi move and fight, amazing work I can't wait to see the final product

This is gonna be complex, each character have their own personality and different physical characteristics. The combat movements and style of Bastila in this teaser is pretty good and I hope they'll be as unique as her personality. By unique I don't mean different combat form for every characters, but some adaptation of this form due to her physical characteristics. Nice job and I just want more of that, but also take all the time you need to make it epic!

My daughter had an idea. You should do episodic videos with the KZfaq feature where the viewer can choose the Light side or Dark side outcomes at certain points during the episode. Once you've done the all episodes you'd have two fan films for each outcome.

Amazing! Love it!!! :) the saber could be a little less blurry, it's brightness kinde "overglows" bastila and makes it hard to figure out what her moves are, but WOW, DAMN i love this!

Amazing job! One suggestion is to have the character interact with the environment. Ya, she jumping and landing, but there feels like it’s a weightless motion. I would suggest using the leaves on the floor to get displaced by her movements.
