Hello! A wonderful video indeed. Can i use pomace olive oil for this recipe? If i use pomace, is the measurement similar as regular olive oil? Thank you so much for the explanation.

Thank you🌹 so much.. Today I've made the soap! Your recipe is simple and good! When can I cut my soap? Tomorrow?

Yay!!! I am so happy that you made this soap. For unmold I would suggest to wait atleast 2 days. When you are un-molding, see if it comes out of mold easily. If you see it still sticky and wet, let it sit for another 2 days. You can cut it the same day when you take it out of the mold. I am so excited about your soap 🧼 😃

Wonderful video! I am however concerned and thinking of the micro plastics that could transfer into soap through being "cooked" into the lye (heat+ corrosive). Is glass not appropriate for soap making vessels? Genuinely curious

I would like to make soap with tallow and MCT oil and lye… do you know if I can just replace the coconut oil with MCT oil? (I have sub derm and can use MCT or squalane, but the later is hard to find where I live).
@CraftwithGeeta
@CraftwithGeeta 4 ай бұрын
Hi, unfortunately you can't replace oils in a recipe. Every oil has different saponification value. About MCT oil, I never made a soap with it. Maybe I will give it a try for one of my videos here! 🙂

Namaste! No, you can't replace OO with peanut oil. You will need to add your oils in soap calculator to get exact amounts of everything, especially lye.

May I ask what FO did you use and how much? I’m new to CP
@CraftwithGeeta
@CraftwithGeeta 8 ай бұрын
I used Carribean Teakwood FO from Candle Science. I used 0.8oz in 1lb of soap (5% of oils). That's all I had at hand. You can go up to 6% per Candle Science safe usage limit. That will be 0.96oz. I hope it helps :)

@CraftwithGeeta
@CraftwithGeeta 10 ай бұрын
Try and see if you like it! Everyone has a different skin. This is basically a beginner soap recipe to learn soap-making. Once you know the basic process, you can use different recipes by adding various oils and butters. I have used it on my face with no issues but this is not my favorite recipe for the face.

Hi! No, you can't just replace. You will have to run your oils/butters in soap calculator because every oil/butter has different saponification value.

Castile soap is 💯 olive oil, bastile soap ia 70 % olive oil right what is the use?
@CraftwithGeeta
@CraftwithGeeta 10 ай бұрын
It cures sooner than Castille soap. Castille soap is best after 1 year of cure, but Bastille soap can be used after 8-10 weeks cure. I hope it answered your question.

@CraftwithGeeta

This soap is not suitable for babies. You shouldn't use any soap on a baby's skin until they are 1 year old. This is just my suggestion!

@CraftwithGeeta
@CraftwithGeeta 9 ай бұрын
@yuliaandronova4620 Everyone's skin is different. Try making a small batch with 6% and see how it feels on skin. If it feels dry, you can increase it to 7%. You can also add some Shea butter or cocoa butter ( instead of all 30% Coconut oil) to make it more suitable for dry skin. It will be like a new recipe, so make sure you run it through soap calculator for proper amounts of ingredients needed. I hope it helps! 🙂 Happy soaping!
