@@HammerThumbs Indeed it would, you'd have slower acceleration assuing the motor was powerfull enough to supply the torque demand but higher top speed. My comment is because what was said in the video "If you want to go fast you need a big cog on the wheel" is just wrong! That said if you look at the sprockets on a 50cc moped/motorbike you have a small 10 or12 tooth on the gearbox output and a larger 38-50 tooth on the rear wheel. And that because a 50cc motor has 2 or 3 hp and virtually no torque. When I was a teenager one of the first things we did to make our 50cc bikes go faster than the 30mph restriction was, to change the rear sprocket for slightly smaller one and that increased top speed to 40mph After that it was a case of filing out the valve restriction, porting the exhaust and fitting an expansion exhaust, then top speed was 55-60mph Some people bought what was called a big bore kit which was, basically a new unrestricted block bored to 65cc and new piston, rod and bearings then by fitting an expansion exhaust that got you straight into 65mph. The problem was if you got stopped by the police you were in trouble because your bike was then classified as a motorcycle rather than a moped and if you were still only 16 you're not old enough to ride a motorcycle legally. And even if you were 17 or older unless you had told you insurance about the mods you weren't insured.
