The video introduces my next video build series on the channel. This time around it's the AMT 1:25th scale Batman BATWING model kit.
I'll be doing some LED lighting and custom airbrush painting on this model.

I have this one and an action base with a city backdrop. And the batmobile. They're so nice!

One of the fun things about these builds is going back and watching the original movie.

Yes it is and I use my PC to take screenshots to use for matching some of the details the movie model.

It will really look nice with a batsignal backdrop. The batsignal didn't exist yet in this story, just to let you know. But artistic license is everything

I turned the head on Batman and had the arms turn the steering so it gave a little more motion to the figure. If you then have the Batwing tilting to one side it looks like the scene from the movie :)

Looks good. Not finished mine yet but managed to fit led cables no bother in the wings. I used 3mm for the front and had to dig a bit. The front of the cockpit was a bit tight for 3mm so I mounted 3 x colour led behind.

Like all the batman models, that's gonna be great, your right about anson mount he makes a good captain pike looking forward to the new series 👍.

Temper those expectation about Star Trek Pike. The show is STILL being run by the same people who've managed to turn Trek fandom into a wasteland with Discovery and Picard. I wouldn't have high hopes with the same people attached to a fifth, ten, or twentieth Star Trek series. They NEEDED to get rid of everyone associated with Discovery and Picard but failed to do that and brought on board the same hack responsible for writing Batman&Robin and The Lost in Space feature film. I don't like to get negative on Boyd's channel but we have to be realistic about these things. At least the older better shows and movies are still available on streaming and home video!

This is a brilliant kit and built a couple. The figure takes up too much room in the cockpit IMHO if you light up the cockpit so I’ve just left it out.

It's an excellent kit and the size is perfect. The '89 Batmobile is nice too.

Excited about this build, especially with the iridescent blue effect! Also looking forward to the Discoprise. The 1/2500 is a nice little "out of the box" kit, if you're patient enough with the decals.

I saw some builds of the small Discorpise and it looked great. Just a little too small to work in all of the lighting it has.

I use 0805 SMD's for the Wing Lights on my 89 Batwing and they work just as good as the Lighthouse LEDs and you can still use the Clear Parts there are also guns in the Wings like an old WW2 fighter plain you can light those too Boyd... You could also use two On & Off switch's one for the Main Lighting and one for Firing the Guns that way you can turn the Guns On or Off if you want to Boyd... Good Luck with your Batwing Boyd.

I’ve built it. It’s a pretty good build, and not too many seam lines to fix up. The Batman figure alone is worth it alone.

I forgot I've also ordered my 1/1000 Scale Discovery Enterprises model and I'm also going to get the Lighting kit for that Model but I'm only going to use the Nacelle Lighting & Motors and the Red & Blue Colored parts I'm not going to use all the Lighting also going to get the Aztek Decals set too .... Can't wait to see how you build your's up Boyd.

Bought the first issue of this kit way back and never got round to building it. Now it's buried in the stash, so will be watching this build eagerly, Boyd! Got the Enterprise on the way too. Keep those updates coming!

Funny thing! I just bought one of these from eBay with the intentions of lighting it. I have one built. But, I don't want to break it apart! Just a thought! Backlight the Bat signal!

I really like the kit and it's going together like a breeze. I won't be able to setup the backdrop permanently because it would take up too much space. Looking forward to seeing your build.

It's been at least 20 years since I've seen the 1989 Batman film. It didn't hold up well for me not long after it was released in theaters. It couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to be funny or serious. At least the old 1966-1968 TV series committed to being campy! Big problem I have with Tim Burton films is that he doesn't do great adaptations of existing material. His best most heart-felt stuff are his original ideas or things (The Nightmare Before Christmas [directed by another man based on a Burton poem], Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish) that aren't that well-known. His adaptions of the better-known storylines and characters (Batman, Sleepy Hollow) have generally been disappointing to me. The best thing that came out of that 1989 Batman film was the 1992 animated spin-off series. That TV series (1992-1995) is the best Batman I've seen on film or TV, PERIOD. The 1989 film still had a great orchestral score and fine design work. Good Batplane design, great Batmobile -- 2nd favorite Batmobile after the 1966 Adam West Batmobile --, and the best Batman theme anyone's written for the character.

An awesome bit from the 89 Batman was Jack Nicholson's Joker. Great performance as one would expect.
