Arkham knights is using modified unreal engine 3.5. Batman arkham city is using standard unreal engine 3.

I love Arkham knight, simply cause you get the most toys to play with and its the best looking one, yet, my heart beats for "origins", I personally Believe it's highly underrated. That game brought me back the old batman animated series vibes. Loved the art style and villains and the story.

I think i prefere knight story ( development around scarecrow, the arkham knight, joker in batman's head, poison ivy, oracle...), but both are very great

But Arkham city runs on unreal engine 4 in the remastered version. I’m not sure anymore that knight is really better looking.

@@Davidscomix yeah true, but the remastered versions of the first two games, looking sometimes even better than knight. The effects and some character models looking better in the remastered games than in Arkham knight in my opinion.

Arkham city has one of the best stories, but Arkham knight had the best gameplay and top tier graphics that hold up today.

Knight no longer has the best graphics because of the Return to Arkham Collection. Knight uses Unreal Engine 3 while the Arkham Collection uses Unreal Engine 4. They didn't remaster the cutscenes however.

@@Jdud. I played them both recently on a Series X and I don't really think so. Arkham Collection is Unreal 4 while Knight is Unreal 3. The cutscenes in the Arkham Collection were not remastered however. I think with Knight it creates an illusion because there's a lot of rain and normally when it's dark and there's a lot of rain and makes the environment look better. Knight however has far more detail within its world considering it was developed for newer consoles.

@@Jdud. I guess it's all up to personal opinion. Just because something's on the next engine up doesn't necessarily mean everyone will think it looks better. One good debate would be Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2. Most people would agree that Kiwami 2 looks better because it uses the newer Dragon Engine, but I personally don't think it really made any difference. The physics were actually worse in the frame rate was limited to 30, I thought the improved engine was a downgrade and I didn't personally think the graphics looked any better.

Wt the fk you saying,there are lots of boss fights, especially in dlcs. It is because of the open world design that boss fights don't feel linear like in Arkham city

Without question, it is Arkham City. Here is why, Arkham City : Better and simple combat fluidity, Engaging story narrative with plot twists, Best Intro in the whole arkham series with Bruce getting arrested, Smaller but rich open world, Memorable side-quests ( Hush storyline ), Funny NPC character dialogues, Best Villain, Allowed you to play as Catwoman Compared to all of this, Arkham knight was visually stunning but the vast open world felt cumbersome and lacked substance. Riddle challenges were super annoying. Character motivations felt stale. Side-quests were not engaging. Story was predictable with Arkham Knight character reveal being cliche.

i feel like they could have kept the corner takedown from city into knight but if you held the batclaw while in a corner you could do a corner takedown with that tool

They did, it's called the Return to Arham Collection, but it only has Asylum and City. It looks better than Knight because they used Unreal Engine 4 while Knight uses Unreal Engine 3. They didn't remaster the cutscenes though.

@@Ninja_Reborn I wasn't aware it didn't come the PC and yeah it got mediocre reviews because some people were little mad that the cinematics were not redone and it needed a patch in order to get steady performance. The Unreal Engine 4 was very taxing on last gen consoles.

@@Particle_Ghost All that and the fact that the lighting changed for the worse in some areas, some light shafts were missing in certain places and the whole game is generally brighter, which changes the mood.

Personally I prefer Arkham City. The limitations it has makes me feel even more like a badass when I dispatch a room, in combat and predator sections. For Knight however, the lack of limitations makes me feel like I have super-powers, which while more fun, is not what I play a Bat-Man game for.

I like Arkham City story more, but I prefer the combat of Knight over City. Probably because I play on a ps5 where the fps is 30 for the trilogy. Combat in Knight feels more responsive.

Best story goes to asylum or origins, gameplay goes to knight, but the overall game I think city has the best balance. City's plot is piss but the characters and dialog is on point👍🏾, the gameplay is a complete upgrade from asylum and everything you do in it is batman to a tea, the detective work, the interrogation lines and animations, the thugs line's and reactions. It's prime batman so it's gotta be the best for me(plus catwoman is beyond badass and sexy)

And knight underused tf out of Azrael. City hyped him up to play a much bigger role in this story but not only was he reduced to just a side quest but his moveset is just copy/paste Batman. Little point in having him playable if he's just gonna be a Batman skin
