Mark I've never owned a big Omni, but I do have 2 Walking Dead Compendiums, and those were a bear to hold and read. I like the smaller format of these, even though the Omnis have new cover art by Kelley Jones for each book

@@BKsBullets I love the new art by itself but I personally prefer when one of the issues' covers is chosen as the collected edition's cover. And I also tend to enjoy a smaller format, it makes everything easier to read and re-read!

There's 3 volumes of Omnibuses. Basically one for each Batsymbol on the spines.

John Hamm I believe the Omnis have similar content it's prelude - Troika in those three volumes. They were only printed a year apart so the difference may be paper size and hardback and new Kelley Jones wraparound covers on the Omnis. I think you're good with the Omnis or these new trades I showcased

GunsolKyle The Omnis are oversized, but they are also HUGE. You're only reading those on a table or something. There's other KZfaq videos of those out there too

@@BKsBullets I have the three big paperback versions that came out in 2012 I believe. The new 25th are more in-depth and have everything, well almost. There is a Robin, flying solo trade that has issue 1-6 and showcase 4,5 which the first two issues are in the crusade vol 1 trade but issues 6 snd the two showcase has Az-bats in it that’s not included in the new trades. I got this Robin trade when I had gotten the older big books, since it was missing the Robin 1 issue that continued the story. I still have it and placed it between knights quest vol2 and the KQ the search. Just because the Az-bats has the new helmet and since the new KQ vol 1 has the Robin issues in it now, that placement seems a better fit in the timeline

@@congojoea yeah I've been reading these this year (see video playlist) and I really like how the new set collects the Robin issues 1-2 and the KnightsEnd aftermath issue along with the Catwoman wrap up issues

gloomking Prodigal and Troika aren't REALLY part of the saga - they weren't collected with it until this set and the omnibuses. The Search is a part of the Saga, but it's Bruce's journey to healing. So if you're ok with not knowing exactly how his back gets fixed, you're ok to leave it out. I guess Prodigal and Troika are included here b/c Bruce heals, defeats Azbats, then leaves suit to Dick for awhile (Prodigal), and then returns at the end of Prodigal and puts on a new suit and gets to work (Troika). All the Bane/Azbats stuff is wrapped up in KnightsEnd

@@BKsBullets yes the 3rd volume of those 2012 paperbacks includes both knightsend and prodigal. so you'd say i'll be good if i grab those? do you know about the quality of the paper? coz 2012 vol.1 looks a lot thicker than the vol.1 and vol.2 from the 25th anniversary edition also thank you for the feedback man, i really appreciate that!

gloomking I think those 2012 trades would be good. The paper is more newsprint-y than the new ones, hence the thickness.

The new ones. Alternatively, the hardcover omnibuses have the same content as the 9 part set.

No it's 1. Prelude to Knightfall 2. Knightfall Vol 1&2 3. KnightQuest Crusade 1&2 4. KnightQuest The Search 5. KnightsEnd 6. Prodigal 7. Troika The Search may actually happen concurrently with parts of KnightsQuest Crusade, but they collected them as separate stories.

KnightsEnd is the End for Azbats, not the overall saga. Mind you, the Saga never included Prodigal and Troika for YEARS, but when the omnibuses came out as well as these new trade releases, they were included as Bruce is finally back as Batman in Troika - despite the battle that happens vs Azbats in KnightsEnd

That's kinda the point of the whole video. The 9 TPB version I showcase here is best. The TPB omnibus are incomplete, but adequate. These 9 map the same as the HC Omnis tho

Yeah. It was probably produced less than everything else. I had a hard time getting it when it came out!

The Mack this is the most complete collection. KnightQuest has added issues, the search and Troika have never been collected before, so I don't think anything else compares unless you're taking about the newer HC Omnibus
