I love the way this shows just how good Batman is at hand-to-hand combat. The dude is unparalleled. If he was born with superpowers he’d be almost unbeatable being that he’s a gifted fighter and a genius.

He used machine guns and explosions to condition Superman to expect things that are not harmful to him so that when Batman shoots him with the kryptonite he wouldn’t fear it expecting it to be something like a regular explosive round

I actually just realised how smart batman was being in his approach to this confrontation. He outsmarted Superman with ease; the reason hes smirking when Clark is being blasted by the rays isnt because he thinks hes winning, its because Clark thinks HE'S winning. The guns, the rays were all meant to be futile to give Clark a false sense pf confidence until he fired the Kyrptonite which Clark wouldve caught assuming "really?". 100 IQ.

For everyone who is saying that Batman would win this fight with prep time, you are missing the fact that when Superman was revived, he literally destroyed the rest of the justice league like they were nothing. Superman in some comics (depending on the writer) has faster than light speed ability, so he would not lose, ever. However, the fact that Batman is nearly his equal despite being a human being is a testament to his work ethic and determination, which are inspirational qualities. However, he was taunting Superman after weakening him, and if Batman really was smart, he would realize that Superman is not a threat, but this scene just shows him to be an idiot.

Mind You, Superman still has Super Strength and Durability even after getting hit with the Krypt-Gas. He makes Huge Dents in Batman's Arm pieces after punching them and doesn’t bleed at all even after being Rag-dolled around. It’s really Impressive and It shows you that even with Powers you can’t outfight Batman when forced to play on Equal Grounds. Also one of the many reasons why Superman really Respects (and is kinda Intimidated/Scared) by Batman.

I wish they had more fights like this than a ridiculously long story.

He learned to conquer his fear to become the very thing he feared most and all the while fighting alongside god like beings against enemies who are usually even more powerful than them. I really love the combination Batman launches against Superman after blocking his punch. He's wearing a very heavy suit and so he moves slowly, putting 100% power into each hit while trying to maintain a flow. As a martial artist, I really liked that small detail.

What I do like about this scene is that it DOES show how straight up arrogant, almost cocky Superman is. He completely disregards Batman’s ability in every way. Batman uses weapons like sonar blasters and machine guns, knowing that they’ll only annoy Superman but not hurt him at all. You can also see how cocky Superman is when Batman drops the smoke grenade. Instead of using thermal vision, or X-ray vision, he just speed blitzes threw it because what could happen? He is far superior to Batman. And even though Batman was swift enough to dodge his attack, Superman still doesn’t feel threatened. Why would he? I say this because when Batman shoots the kryptonite Grenade, Superman instead of easily dodging it, he catches it. Because like stated before the weapons Batman has used have been nothing more than annoying. And when that grenade explodes, Superman learns that Batman is a danger to him and that he’s f%cked up bad. I love it
