Even I find the product not useful, I appreciated your test. It's unlike Dave's test which is full of laughing a neutral test what you expect from an engineer.

he laughs because he has been vindicated, after nearly two years of campaigning by Batteriser/oo to try to discredit him. There was never, ever, any doubt about Batteriser/oo's claims being anything other than wishful thinking

Well, it's very unprofessional either way. I'm no fan of batteriser but if you're going to debunk it as an engineer, be serious about it, otherwise it just looks bad and can have the opposite effect. EcProjects approach is superior.

Indiskret1 It's a fucking boost converter presented as an "innovation." It's laughable. Therefore it's ok to laugh about it.

eevlog's test was rigged. It's amazing no one picked up on the the fact that the toy train he used had CONSTANT VOLTAGE CIRCUITRY. It says on the Batteroo manual NOT to use the sleeves with electronic boosters, which is common sense. eevlog is a fucking fraud, and I unsubbed from him as soon as someone pointed the toy train out. The reason these sleeves work is no mystery, just look at all the high quality single AA LED flashlights on the market, same principle.

It's okay eevlog fanboy.

for that radio synced clock I bet if you salvaged a voltage converter from a wireless mouse you could just open up the clock and put that inline, then you can modify the voltage since there is probably a voltage divider that is accessible, so like the batteroo but in the clock it self instead of each cell.

Do you have a SA ? Maybe the switching of the batteroo is causing EMI problems for the receiver.

Would be interesting to see it under a DC electronic load (like the Agilent 6060B) and measure the total energy at various loads until the Batteriser shuts off. So far, I haven't seen anyone do this. It's all been qualitative tests using flashlights, motors, and the like.

It could be interesting to see the current when the voltage is lower and the regulator has to work. And what about rippel, is it short protected?.

Is it also possible that batteriser is too noisy for that clock? DCF77 uses 77,5kHz and I would not surprise if batteriser uses frequency near that.
@7markhunter
@7markhunter 7 жыл бұрын
yes indeed it's pretty certain that it's not a voltage issue at 3.0 volts boosted, it's noisy switching from crappy filtering in the Batteriser.

It might be, but the clock doesn't work at 3v clean DC either..

so with all these people testing it, i guess batteroo is making some money.

they should ha at least added a lower voltage mode it goes into before it just shuts down so battery gauges would at least kinda work if you think about it's not useless but their claim's are miles away from reality

your conversion losses test was invalid as you used a fresh battery which the batterizer passes through the voltage (unboosted) therefore the device isn't really operational, it's just passively checking the voltage 5 times per second as you described. You needed to drain the battery to below 1.5 volts under load and then check a low current drain device such as a watch. Boost converters have TERRIBLE efficiency under ultra low current operation, so yeah redo your test and you'll see a dramatic difference. Pass-through is NOT operational boost conversion.

Your comment is invalid, as I did not use a fresh battery ;) The test was to find the "stand-by" current of the batteriser. The rest is just to get a rough idea how that would affect the run time of a typical clock. The boost converter was operating, but it is still not an efficiency test since I only looked at the current.. The efficiency tests will come in the next episode.. I can tell you that it is around 66% in that clock with an almost dead battery. The test you saw in this video equates to 71%, just looking at the current, which of course is not what you want to do.

You guys are both acting childish. Just because a topic has been covered before, does not mean that a video is suddenly useless. Secondly, there is no need to insult dave jones or his viewers for no reason at all. He makes plenty of informative videos. Grow up you two.
