Very interesting Steve. Great to see so many different types to see the differences and which will work and not draw battery charge when it’s off or having to fiddle with settings every time it’s unplugged. Thanks Buddy!

I absolutely love my battery tenders! I keep 6 or so batteries on the bench in the basement for winter and every time I go down there I cycle the tender to the next battery to keep them topped off. I keep permanent tenders on the utv as it still gets used but not often in the winter months! Thanks for sharing Steve!

That’s a good topic Steve. The only use I have for the maintainers is stuff that’s parked for the winter but the other day I went to use my truck....the first time in a few like 3 mounts and it didn’t start...... I know what your talking about ....you don’t want that maintainer to be a parasitic draw on the battery when your using the truck and just park it for a few days before the next use....good one....we have to cover all angles.....CHEERS

Gator for many today replacing a battery or a no start is a trip to a shop so a low cost maintainer may be a good thing to consider. I have not had a no start in a very long time , maybe back in the 80's LOL

Lots to consider and you covered the bases. The importance of circuitry is something I may have overlooked. For the permanent mount build quality (weather proof cables etc) is also important 👍

I imagine the OEM's have stayed away from these as an option because of the liabilities as some live in areas where vermin chew a lot of wires.

Is it safe to use a maintainer on a brand new battery installed on a car that won’t be driven but once a week? Also, can you put your Maintainer on the jump posts instead of directly on the battery? My battery is buried under a bunch of plastic components. And one more question: can you use a battery maintainer to supply your cars computer while swapping out a battery?
@SteveRobReviews
