Very good instruction! Thank! I replaced the batteries of two brushes, the first was easy, with the second I was silly enough to mix up plus and minus, shame on me. I noticed that it became hot (the battery was not that full, when it came) so I fastly solded it off again and changed the side, now it works, I was lucky. The batteries was near 9.- euro one piece, I hope the brushes run again a while now. One brush had a bit broken seal at the top, I put silicon around it, hope its sealed now.

Thank you. Excellent instruction. I used an AA eneloop 2000mah Ni-MH because of availability. It is longer so the plastic near the positive had to be cut away and the steel spring replaced by a thin insulating packer. It gives 14 days = 56 minutes per charge. Excellent.

@@ionicindustries I think I got it working, its been sitting on the stand for about a day and its up to the 3 blinking lights now, will be nice not having to use the tiny brush ends by themselves to brush my teeth... though I did accidentally tear off the induction coil and have to soldier that back on as well and I'm just honestly not good at soldiering to start.

@@ionicindustries Think I might have killed it somehow though. Changed the battery out, and having to soldier the induction coil back on after accidentally ripping it off, it charged... but the first two times I went to use it it would only run at random few second intervals, then when I went to use it a third time it wouldn't turn on at all. I don't know if I managed to shake something loose or if a different chip on the board shorted out after like 5 years or so of use. Do you have any possible suggestions to look for if I was to take it apart again?

Top Tip: The plastic ring is stepped so when prying it out you might need to push down into the soft rubber of the casing to get under the edge. Standing the brush in hot water beforehand will also soften up the ring.

As a total novice with a soldering iron I'm enjoying just the challenge of this. Beware! be very careful when locating the catches before removing the innards. There are catches-within-catches that locate the induction coil to the circuit board. If you release these and then apply any force - you're likely (as I did to break the connection to the CB). You must be sure to release the outer catches - see the image at 1:47.

Thanks. Good tutorial. I just have a few questions: Why do you have to soak in hot water first? Also, the small promontory on the charger doesn't fit the depression on the plug, so how is it supposed to twist the plug off? Will opening the handle actually destroy the unit, as the manual says? Will it ruin the waterproof quality of the unit?
@ionicindustries
@ionicindustries 8 жыл бұрын
+bltcrunchy Hi there! Standing the brush in hot water softens the plastic casing making it easier to remove the plastic ring around the shaft, and making it easier to break the seal of the cap. The peg on the charger should fit the hole in the bottom of the toothbrush - what is the type number of your toothbrush and the type number of your charger? Opening the handle correctly will not destroy it, neither will it damage the seals. The manufacturer's destructive recycling instructions *will* permanently damage the handle, however!

Didn't have to remove TOP. Instead soaked BOTTOM, placed onto stand, barely turned it and the end popped off. Then the top, turn upside down, press top "point" onto table/counter top. Press firmly; not hard; insides pop out (of the bottom, which is now the "top"). Anyway, this worked for my model 7000.

I just tried this process on my Triumph V2, which will no longer hold a charge. Unfortunately, I was unable to successfully replace the battery after following the procedure in this video. The ring at the top of the unit refused to budge, even after 5 soakings in hot water. I was finally able to remove it after several minutes of exposure to a heat gun at high temperature. I had similar results with the base, which also refused to budge after several soakings in hot water. Unfortunately, the heat gun managed to ruin the base, so I did not proceed any further after that. I might add that this is my second attempt to replace a battery in a Braun toothbrush, and my first one was not successful either. In my opinion, these devices are carefully designed to prevent easy battery replacement, and I won't by trying it again in the future. I'm just now waiting for my new Triumph to finish charging.

Hi, I replaced the battery and everything works. But after one day of toothbrushing I've noticed that there gets some water into the toothbrush .. I seems that the ring on the top is not waterproof any more. Do you have a hint how I can make the ring waterproof again? Maybe using some silicone or something?
@ionicindustries
@ionicindustries 4 жыл бұрын
The ring just presses the soft shroud of the casing to the hard plastic shaft surround. Dismantle and clean these parts, then reassemble ensuring that the ring is pushed firmly into place. Water can still get down the side of the metal shaft so always store your brush on its side with the head removed.

Shape them to match the tags on your original battery. See the photos in the full guide on our website here: toothbrushbattery.com/guides/braun-oral-b-triumph-professional-care-v2-battery-replacement-3761-3762-3764/

This method shows how to remove the battery without damage to the charging coil. Ensure that you do not pull on the coil when removing the innards, but instead push the shaft in from the top.
