Great review Bethany! I’ve used a bunch of Mielle products but hadn’t heard of the other brand. Also, Mielle 7th anniversary sale ends 5/24, but right now everything is $5.99 including this styling gel, so perfect timing!

The reason why the Camille Rose Curl Maker is more expensive is because it has expensive, gourmet high-quality ingredients (marshmallow root, pectin, seaweed powder, nettle) whereas Mielle's version has pretty basic and cheaper ingredients hence is why it's half the price, as it should. With Camille Rose you're getting what you're paying for in those gourmet ingredients, we can't expect a product with those ingredients to be super cheap, yes the price is high but also fair at the same time.

If you live in a highly humid climate like my city, Lagos, in Nigeria, Mielle is better because it has synthetic polymers which are anti-humidity proof.

I your really looks good. I like the Miele styling gel side. To me, it looks fuller. I will definitely try the Miele styling gel.

Okay, the Mielle Ginger gel is really drying on my hair. As for the curl maker,by Camille Rose. It is really nourishing, I remember it use to go for 14.99. I noticed ever since Ice Spice featured the gel in her music video, the price sky rocketed. Regardless to say I’m still on a hunt for a great non drying gel.

What if you flip flop the products to the other side since the left side is wavy vs the curly on the right?

Camille is superior in regards to the ingredients... there are also film forming humectants in CR which are "gold" to the hair!

To be fair, hair naturally grows more on one side than the other (due to hair actually growing in a spiral) so the side with Mielle could be the side that has more hair which then gives the illusion of more volume.

Bethany... HI! I told everyone I was busy and had to keep working on our home remodel... until.... (drumroll🥁) you're video showed up! All of a sudden, I needed a BREAK and I just started! LOL! Great video! Thank you again. I had curls two days in a row. Today my hair is straight again... just wanted to style it differently. I like the curls though... so easy to accomplish. I was able to leave our home faster. I am not exactly sure what you did first ... wash, then apply leave in conditioner... then the curl maker? If so, can you share what leave in conditioner you use? I never bought that and I just turned 54!!! You are teaching me my friend. Also... do you towel dry in between applying products a bit? Sorry...all new to me. My friends said... how did you get curls? Wow! I said it's my natural hair after I wash it... SHOCKED FACES! LOL! Be back soon! Thanks in advance. CURRENTLY im trying mielle I have not tried camilla but i have tried cantu , shea moisture and many others anx stopped using because they made my hair dry & brittle sooo yeah now im trying all mielle

How did it hold up over the next few days?

Camille rose is my HG gel, to me its side looks better. I have coarse and dry and ğrotein sensitive hair. Every other gel I have tired dried my hair. Only Camille rose doesn’t dry out my hair. Uncle funky has changed its formula, the new formula is crap and turned my hair to straw but the old formula very good and was very similar to Camille Rose.

How do you use the curl maker without getting flakes the NEXT DAY?!

The Mielle and Camille Rose are equal. Mielle side is fuller.
