The new 41mm case is not the issue… what I don’t like is the wider bracelet and wider clasp - it’s big … it’s huge … the perfect case is still the SD4K period !!!

On the Sub 126610LV new Kermit, it's a 40.5mm case with a 21mm bracelet. The previous Sub was 40.3mm with 20mm bracelet. The SD43 has a larger 22mm bracelet. On the 116610LV I personally wanted to like the Hulk. Problem is I just couldn't IRL. I really like it on pictures with subtle lighting where the dial has a darker emerald colour full of nuances. However, when a direct light hits the dial IRL, I can't stand that vivid histrionic metallic green going berserk on me. I live in a sunny place which doesn't help. I had to pass. That was 4 years ago when they were trading below retail on the secondary market. You could buy one for less than 7k at the time. Nobody wanted it, "it was too green". I feel the same as you about the black Sub. Owning the SD43 already it would feel redundant. Truth be told I'm a little bit bored with black dial divers. This time I went with the latest TT Bluesy 126613LB. I needed something more playful and lively. Something less serious, more fun to wear. Yes it's kind of showy and to me it looks great under a strong light, as opposed to the Hulk.

Sounds like your having a difficult time coping with the loss of the Hulk. As you said when the light hits that dial is amazing. It’s a great watch don’t kid yourself. As the new 2.0, another great watch. Rolex knows exactly what they are doing.

Glad to see you back, man. Great choice getting rid of the massively overpriced, overhyped Hulk. Personally I much prefer the new case, but have similar concerns with the clasp width. The modern GMT does nothing for me.

Best review I’ve seen of the Cermit and I’ve seen quite a few. Buying my Cermit tomorrow!

Agree prefer the Kermit . Hulk vibrant colour with sunburst is too much for me . I’m not really a sunburst guy it’s a bit look at my shiny Rolex . I do like the Kermit but would have preferred 20 mm lugs the bracelet was brilliant ..

I would go Kermit also . It’s purely down to wearability. I think my 41 sub just wears a little better than my maxi . It just feels more uniformed and the extra mil on the bracelet just helps hug the wrist a little better . I didn’t like the idea of changing the bracelet size when it was announced but now think it was a great move .

Same opinion, yes a fantastic watch, but a shame about the 21mm strap and the buckle. A matter of proportions to accentuate the effect, because in fact the lugs are only 0.1mm thinner. But in short, the Hulk is for me still the most beautiful LV of the line, one and only with a sunburst dial thanks in part to that. As you say, the black Sub's are everywhere, and finally the Kermit is it with a green bezel stuck on it ! I find that not a real personality like the Hulk, which is really something special to own...

1. Care to share with us how you were able to source such a rare piece? Did you pay retail or above? 2. What happened to your Pepsi? 3. If you want some color but not the flare, you should also look into the 116710LN with the green GMT hand. That might suit you. Happy Holidays.

Agree with you about the clasp, it’s too big!! I have the 40mm and the 41mm sub and I prefer the 40mm sub, it’s more comfortable and the fat lugs never bothered me, I actually think people are going to really miss that maxi case and it’s going to increase the resale market in the 40mm ceramics! For those that wanted slimmer lugs, just go and buy a pre ceramic sub! Keep the videos coming sir! 👍🏻

Great video as always Michael! I recently acquired an all black sub date from my AD, love it! It’s very hard to find a Kermit without paying a premium price, hopefully my AD calls me with one. Sad to say I sold my ceramic SD 116600 to get the Sub which I kinda regret, wish I could have em all, Lol! Welcome back brother!

That watch is looking beautiful on your wrist. I hope you haven’t let go. I got it recently, it’s a good looking one although I never thought of buying a watch with green component but when I tried it I really liked it.

Got my Kermit a month ago and loving it so far. Like it more than the hulk which I used to own as well. The combination of the Kermit is just more attractive to me. Just my opinion, having owned both.

Great video and honest thoughts. I totally agree 114060 sub no date a solid watch and doubt you’d need anything more unless GMT dual timezones. As you say in other videos Rolex has almost become go catch them all😂

It would be goood to make one video regarding Submariner two tones, your thoughts, experience. I do not understand why they put larger clasp on new sub. I have feeling new sub will come in a couple of years and it will be slightly bigger , more closer to 41 mm.

My Seiko SRP777J is more valuable than all my future Rolex pieces!

I absolutely get your point with the Pepsi. It’s a nice watch but is it versatile? I don’t think so. Another thing I absolutely agree with you on your opinion on the sub date. I too think it’s a little vanilla which is why I chose my LN GMT over it. The Sub should only be bought in black and with no date. That’s the only one that does anything for me in the current Sub range. The two tones remind me too much of a ‘made man’ in the Italian Mafia. I’d pass on the new Starbucks. Does nothing for me and that clasp is as big as a matchbox car.

Thank you for calling it the Kermit 2.0, that’s exactly what I’ve been calling it too! I cringe when I hear people refer to it as the Cermit or Starbucks 😝 Anyhow I digress... The Kermit 2.0 is a beautiful watch for sure, but the clasp is somewhat of a deal breaker in my humble opinion. I find it to be almost hideously too large, and I really prefer the more classic 20mm bracelet. If I had the choice between the new 126610LV and the neo-vintage 16610LV, I’m going with the 16610LV all day long 🍻

Great authentic video as always, delighted to see this jump into my feed. Interesting thoughts.... the trimmed shoulders is an improvement for me and I agree 100% that while the green sunburst on hulk is stunning it’s a “look” I want 5% of the time. The larger clasp is the main concern for me, it’s significantly larger and for my wrist really pushing it I think. Also like your thoughts on colour ... it’s more about making it NOT a black sub date which is a great piece but the default choice for non watch guys that land an end of year bonus and this taints it a bit (for me). I would love a new Kermit at list price but failing that it’s 5 digits for me still which I think occupy a nice middle ground between true tool watch era and ceramic jewellery era. Don’t envy your decision on what to do next ... it is a lovely rotation piece with your 16600 though 😬 . Thanks for the post and your thoughts/insight 👍🏼

Awww this is my dream watch and I hope to get it even though it is a long shot. You seem a bit underwhelmed by it or as you have said before, maybe you are fatigued by the Rolex game. It will be interesting to see if you stick with any of the ceramic sports watches as it seems they are just not your style. I wonder if you would like the new “root beer” CHNR though. It’s something a bit different and elegant in my opinion. Love hearing your perspectives. Happy New Year to you!

I never liked the black Sub date, as it is kind of bland. Not a fan of the Hulk, as it looks tacky with the green dial. The new Kermit is great, as I like the contrast between green and black. Sub without date will always be king.

I guess the new kermit sits in between the black sub and the hulk...... I have a black 114060 nö date sub which I do really like, and yes it does go with any outfit of casual or formal style ect... That set aside I have always found myself drawn to the hulk and had my name in waiting at my local AD for years...... My only option now will be the grey market and a £14, 000 plus price tag. My overall opinion is that the hulk is a beautiful looking watch that has an amazing looking dial. ... I don't think you can go far wrong by owning a black sub and a hulk....... I think the new kermit is a good option for those who can't make up their mind and are contented with owning a bit of each..... As for the 41mm case..... I put the 41mm next to the 40mm and its really weird how at first glacé the 40mm seems to look the larger of the two....

The 116610LV is so elegant and beautiful. When I saw one in person I sold off my 126610LV and bought it instead. Saved some money and walked away with the better watch, in my opinion. The bracelets on the new subs is less tapered and elegant. It is also less comfortable to me. I feel the 126610LV looks a bit cheap and gimmicky.

Kermit bracelet is 21mm to 16mm tapered, not 22 mm! 40.5mm not 40.3mm!
