We've had the same premium (at the time) Keurig coffee maker for 11 years!. After seeing your video (thank you) I purchased the K-Elite model. We like the Auto on/off feature like our oold unit had.

Also, for your reference, the reason the Supremes are quieter than the elite is the supremes do not have a water reservoir. The Supremes are instant heat running the water through a hot coil. The elite has a boiler tank and that's why it takes longer and makes more noise. If you have the supreme machines, run a 4 oz cup of hot water through it when you first turn it on. That way it'll make sure the machines nice and warm all the way through and your first cup will be as hot as it can be.

My old Keurig ( it’s an OG) broke yesterday afternoon.. within a couple hours I ran out and looked at all the Keurig models without doing any research. I’m so glad your video justifies me buying the K Supreme Plus.. I have made several cups and it’s a huge improvement! Thanks for demonstrating the presets too since I’m the only who likes it really strong!!! New Sub.. cheers ☕️ ☕️

Another great video! My wife got me the Supreme model for Christmas to replace an old keurig 2.0 I had. The Supreme makes a much better tasting cup of coffee over my old 2.0. She didn't get the plus because I am the only coffee drinker so I don't need the multiple memory settings and such. Ruby said to tell Brooklyn "hi." 😊 Also I saw where Ryobi is coming out with a big zero turn electric mower. Bigger than the Ego, I think Ryobi's is 56 inch with a fabricated steel deck. The electric mower wars are starting to heat up. 😁👍

My husband noticed we had similar let’s say curiosity with regards to temps settings and strengths for the different options. I’m watching your video on the couch after I spent half hour in the kitchen unboxing our new Supreme plus we just got at Costco, but the funny thing he noticed is I also test with my digital thermometer the difference in temps and also wrote them all down including when the strength was at the lowest/balanced and also I recorded down for the strongest setting/intense. Then did the 4oz, 8oz, and also the 12oz. With obviously a coffee pod in each. Yes I know I waisted a lot of coffee here but I needed to know the machine abilities because both myself and my husband have completely different preferences when it comes to our daily coffee. Also I ❤love the 3 saved settings. This means I can set my husband up with his setting and all he needs to do is just put a pod inside and press his number and start. That’s literally all he is capable of doing for himself. His mug will already be ready with sugar in it for him next to the machine and he is ok to add the cream from a specially measured out container in the fridge. That way he can make it for himself if I’m not here and it will be perfect for him. Any more steps and he will not use it and go purchase from a cafe to get his preferences made for him. We had same idea measuring the temps and I found my machine makes the highest temp no matter how many oz that’s selected and no matter the strength setting the hottest temp I can get is 167f/75c. My lowest temperature (not using the cold setting) no matter what the strength and oz was set at was always 146f/64c. Give or take a point either way but almost always was 146/64 for lowest temp/warm. Anyway I enjoyed your video. Oh also I wanted to note I took the temps immediately when finished brewing and in all new room temperature mugs. No preheated mugs and nothing added to the brewed coffee before taking the temps. Anyway really enjoying your channel. Thank you for helping us select our new machine. I know it’s day one, but so far I actually find it extremely easy and I’m happy with everything. I’m getting the milk frother tomorrow and I’m just looking g up the differences between the nespresso and the keurig one to see what one would be better for lattes. We don’t like the cappuccino style foam so whatever milk warmer if you will, that makes more lattes and less foam will be the winner. I also have one of the Starbucks milk frothers from years ago so I may just use that one if I can’t decide or find another one that works better. Any suggestions, will be appreciated!! I’ll also search your videos to see if I can find some of your thoughts on them as well. Cheers 🙏

Good review of these coffee makers, I enjoy all your videos! I have the k supreme plus (costco) and, don't quote me, I believe that and the k supreme do not have internal water tanks. That's why they're so quiet and can make coffee immediately upon powering on along with back to back cups without waiting. Just have to be careful that the external tank never complety empties or will instantly kill the machine (ask me how I know ;).

Went through so many machines, the Supreme Plus is legit. The machine on the right has gone through thousands of KCUPs in my office without cleaning too

Thank you for the review. I’ve been using the elite for a few years. Just bought the plus at Costco for $139.99. I like the look of the plus, but I wish the water tank was flush with the back of the machine. Also, the plus is a lot quieter and I like that.

I have the K-Elite and I love it! I had the K-Supreme before but it died while I was descaling it last month and I didn't want to have the same one again because I was worried that the same thing would happen. When my K-Elite stops working, which will hopefully not be for a while, I might try the K-Supreme Plus.

Ok so I have both the Elite and the Supreme Plus in front of me right now lol and earlier today we made 8oz cups with each, used 4 teaspoons of creamer in each cup, both were on strongest settings, and the supreme plus smelled and tasted way more watery than the elite did. Also I’ve noticed the supreme plus drips out almost pure water in the first few seconds of the brew (we have clear glass mugs so it’s easy to see). I got the supreme plus last week and was so frustrated with how watery it is I went out and got the Elite today to compare. Maybe I got a bad machine idk… but I’m keeping the Elite. The supreme plus looks better, love the design, but the Elite made a better cup of coffee in our opinion. Honestly I suspect that the new 5 hole punch sends too much water into the Kcups too fast, because even our 5 year old Keurig Compact model seems to be less watery than the Supreme Plus, and it doesn’t have a strong setting. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Like the review, even did a selection of machines. I still have the original, for many, many (about 13-15) years & use it a lot! Still going strong, which at this point I would like to get a new one, but won't buy one until the old machine dies.

A little trick if you want to have the absolute best 8 oz cup of coffee. Run a 4 oz cup of coffee on the hottest setting and the strongest strength setting. Then remove the pod and run 4 oz of the hottest water only. You'll end up with an 8 oz cup that is both not overextracted and yet brought down to the strength level that you like. Strong coffee can always be diluted to medium coffee, over extracted bitter coffee will always be overextracted bitter coffee.

Yeah they all look great but does the supreme plus have a brew over ice like the supreme does the elite is kinda bulky and probably isn't the best to save space like the other two would plus the supreme being able to have the option of the tank being on the side or back and the idea of having a handle makes it easier than the tank like the one on the elite model

Strong setting works by slowing the pump ,water has more time to soak the grinds,k elite is the best

Looks like only one is a sprayer, the other 4 just make extra holes to release some of the vacuum in the pods they do not spray, it would overfill the pods with water I may be wrong, but I do not see spray holes in the other 4.

i did buy the plus because of temp control but saddened by not getting the temp as told on ad and box. needs 195-200 to get best flavor out of any coffee. with temp and strength all way up with coffee in pod temp was 190 in cup. thank god because i was ready to send this thing back. i can get a cheap 20-30 dollar machine that gets 170 in cup . so if this machine does get to 200 then i need to buy real good coffee and see how it comes out. i was using kettle with temp up to 212 but never went past 200 and get very good coffee but takes to long and not very convenient. will keep you informed if needed.

I’ve tried the KSupreme Plus and honestly it’s good at first but the coffee tastes way too bitter. I use the strength all the way too, I like my coffee strong. It started to taste like plastic. I now have the K Elite and honestly this one is so much better. I like the 5 stream however I hope Keurig improves it over time.

Got the costco model and it made nice warm coffee. Not hot! Returned, costco said they have lots returned

I have the k1500 love it so far. Hot coffee and well the plus at Costco not worth it for me because I have a lot of accessories for my old keurig. Using k cup and my own ground coffee the machine is the k 1500 for me

How can you fairly compare the strength of the coffee between the 2 machines when you did not use the same amount of cream in each up of coffee? Would it not have been easier and better to compare their strength as black coffee?

I had two supremes fail on me so I got the elite and am happy. The handle on the tank was great on the supreme. And I’m sure the coffee probably tastes marginally better with the supreme. But the elite is great in every other way. The supreme is known to have issues. Both of mine tried pumping water then burned the heating tube up and went into a safe mode. Because the elite has a separate heating tank, that is not an issue with it.

I have heard that Keurigs reduce the temperature when using the iced coffee settings (which makes sense). Have you every tried that and comparing the temperature of ice setting?

Why would the Kurig designer think (or perhaps lack of thinking) that a person would want the option of changing the water reservoir position from the left side to the rear and not to the right side? Can anyone give a possible scenario where a person would want the reservoir in the rear of the coffee maker making it more difficult to access to refill the water?

I was disappointed with the K-Supreme Plus with the temperature. I was told that it would go to 198 but after seeing your test results with the highest temp it failed miserably! I guess Keurig wants to impress wth false advertising. Disappointing for sure. Thank you for your reviews as they were excellent!

When will you get more ?

I have had 2 of the K Supreme Smart Plus brewers. The coffee doesn’t brew anywhere near as hot as the K Elite. They also don’t last. My first one had to be replaced by Keurig at just over 1 year. Now the second one is on the fritz. Their quality has gone down hill.

My Supreme just stopped. It was only 10 months old. Keurig would not do anything as it was a gift and my son did not have the receipt. I just cleaned it thoroughly and it stopped for good Any suggestions? Marilyn

Mr. Tech Made Easy, I would have liked to have heard your opinion on bitterness and overall taste as opposed to just strength. I have a definite opinion on this. I recently purchased the Supreme Plus and I find that it is the first Keurig brewer I have ever owned that did not have that distinctive Keurig K cup bitterness to it. The biggest downside to K cup brewing in the past, in my opinion, has been that they tend to brew a bit more bitter than if I had bought comparable whole bean coffee and brewed it in my grinding brewer. In fact, if it was up to me I would’ve abandoned Keurig all together if not for the fact that my wife enjoys the ease of which it brews. Besides, she dumped so much creamer in it, I am sure that bitterness is not a factor to her. We recently upgraded here Keurig to the Supreme Plus and while I can’t say that the Supreme Plus is better than my grinding brewer, it is the first Keurig I have ever owned that really comes close to being as good. I mean REALLY close. I enjoy it very much and use it for some of the flavored K cups I like where using flavored beans in my grinder is a big no-no.

Why don't you use the water filters on your machines? Just curious.

I have the middle supreme model. When I first got it I thought it was broken because the side water container was so loose that I almost stop right there and took it back. It wasn’t until I got water in it that I realize that it was done on purpose. My question is how many people actually takes it back thinking it’s broken? 😂

Since 192 TO 205 is ideal for coffee, the Keurig fails on all counts. And we do have Keurig in our house, but I don't use it, I use drip for myself.

You made an error in your final coffee test. You put the supreme plus on the normal temperature setting which ended up brewing 166° cup and you left the k elite on its high setting which gave you 172° cup so it was not an exact match. You used the coolest water setting on the one machine and use the hottest water setting on the other machine. You would have noticed a much stronger cup of coffee on the supreme over the elite. Had you used the hotter water.

I bought supreme and the coffee quality was garbage . Then I went to a hotel and they had k-classic in room . The k-classic made such good cup of coffee

Your testing of the water temperature is inaccurate, to a point. You want to get the the contact temperature for the grounds which would be at the coffee reservoir. Testing at the cup is inaccurate at the dispensed temperature because distance traveled, through the air, contacting the machine plastic and finally hitting a room temperature cup you are probably losing about 20 degrees fahrenheit, if not more.

Well the K Supreme Plus only lasts a month before it refuses to power on after forcing a decsale...so there’s that.

My god wait too long. You can’t judge the strength of a coffee when you added creamer and you didn’t measure the creamer and you have a flavored creamer it Hass to be black coffee versus black coffee your customers not even close to comprehensive. It is like comparing how strong a cup of coffee is when you use more water in one and less in another.

The internals are all most identical on all keurig coffee makers. I mean sure some use buttons some use touch screen, and variations of both ui. some are lacking options besides the most basic. That’s simple microcontroller programming with some sensory feedback is all and mostly just making sure sensors were in spec and not say on fire or shorting. They all have the all most identical heating system as well as water and air pump to cause sputtering and more or less steam production. But the heating system is basic electrode heater with aluminum piping twisted around it that acts as a heat exchanger. And I’m sure the heating element is standard that when it gets to temp the resistance rises to slow then stop current flow like a variable resistor and similar to what’s in most electric ceramic or what ever the put to sell them space heaters or even found in hot glue guns so on. Any way sure there is some programming and tuning to how much water and air mixture when so on and how fast to pass the water thru a cycle all that can be adjusted and use pre programed codes for each setting. But over all it’s not some kinda amazing technology that some how makes coffee better than any other standard drip coffee maker really. Sure there is many different ways to brew coffe using all manors of devices that use thermodynamics in different ways to build pressure or deliver steam so on. French press is by far the strongest and simplest method to really get all the flavor and caffeine out by pressing the grains after steeping directly in the water in higher coffee to water concentration as well as longer period of time over a wider range of heats then the solids pressed at the end ringing out the often left in flavor. I mean when u become a completely insufferable snob of it sure there are small tricks that add and change the end flavors but the most important thing with coffee espresso and so on. It’s all about the quality and freshness of the beans followed then by process and variables like filter thickness and speed even paper type to grind size from course to fine roast matters and again most important is quality of the beans, where they grew, health of the plant along with environment and other factors like pollution or chemicals use on or even around them, how fresh they are from picking care of handling and shelling the beans ripeness when picked and I’m sure some will say voodoo like moon cycle or tidal conditions are even a factor and who knows maybe. But good beans are good beans and then the care and skill of the roasting to bring out the best of the beans. Darker roast means less caffeine, lighter the roast means less volatile organic compounds and more caffeine. And then how long they sit before being used. Fresher is way way better and ideal for best and top quality from the beans a month tops from roasting to brewed. Any longer even vacuum sealed or what ever the coffee starts loosing what makes a great cup of coffee vs just a good it can be smelled tasted and even seen specially in expresso. It’s why high volume coffee shops cups look so much better and different than your even tho you do all the little tricks and check all the other variables to Match perfectly to the barista‘s the biggest variable that is different is the age of the coffee from time of harvest roasting and use from a high volume coffee shop and your coffee at home that’s been sitting for months even years possibly. They are selling you what they didn’t use before receiving a new fresh shipment in to take home and keep that to use in the shop. Making sure the system is kinda rigged agents the home brewer with out connections directly to the source or with out a guy and if your lucky find your guy who gets lots of coffee in from Ethiopia and don’t drink the trash he is serving and selling to the public but make friends and get the secret stash and back room access to what they are drinking. Every farm and family in Ethiopia has there own specialty blend that is unique and often passed down for generations unchanged. Just fair warning once you have been exposed to this and have had some of there coffee it will make you realize we are being served lifeless dull corporate trash coffee but most will not come off much if any and like I said every family has a different variation so finding the type you like the best alone could be a life long journey followed by once u find one or some that literally change your life getting access to it in any meaningful amounts is the next issue and often must be carried in to the county by hand in small amounts often by friends and family of people visiting Ethiopia. They are tasked with going and seeing this person and given enough cash to get as much as they can and then still get thru customs with out them seizing and trashing it. And smuggling it isn’t off the table ether but there is some trying to bring this to the states by getting families to produce enough for commercial use then paying the fees for shipping and importing in a time frame the coffee still has its best flavors is tricky at best. And quality control or having super strict standards on flavors or what not is tough cause it changes depending on season and many other factors. But that is the Holly grail for coffe snobs is a good hookup on the coffee the Ethiopian or Moroccan coffee shop owners make and greedily keep mostly for them selves unless you really kinda befriend them and then get them to share there personal stash that’s kept around the corner just out of sight or knowledge of the public. This got way to long and I am no coffee snob that uses some fancy water distillation dripper or what ever. I got ADD and caffeine doesn’t affect me any ways much. I can drink a pot of super strong extra caffeine coffee and take a nap right after. In fact to much makes me sleepy not awake.

I didn't like any f these, they are all cheaply made. You can't even get really hot coffee. I went with the Keurig K155 I get coffee at 198 degrees! That's a good cup of Java.

DO NOT BUY THE kcup supreme. I bought a K-cup supreme a month ago. Totally crappy product. Water spills all over the place. The descale light stays on even after descaling. I like the look of the machine and the handle for the water. But other than that totally disappointed. I also don’t like the quiet machine. I want to hear the sounds of the coffee brewing...the sizzles... like I’m in a coffee shop with a barista preparing the coffee. This is quiet machine feels like a leaky faucet. Not a fan. BTW, I have owned several keurig brewers but this is by far the worst machine. Don’t buy it. About to throw it out in the trash!

You use sink water to make your coffee? Eww. I never used to think it would make a difference on taste until I compared tap water with filtered from the fridge. Everything else was the same. Same coffee pod, same brewer, everything. Definitely tasted a difference due to what was in the water (local minerals, chlorine, flouride, etc). Now my preference is to use either filtered from the fridge or a spring water.

The Elite looks more like a coffee machine. The Supreme looks commercial and cheap IMO :D

The five hole puncture coffee maker is a joke and they just create more problems. They create a 95% increased chance of not having every hole fully punctured which causes your coffeemaker to leak. It also wastes each pod that was not fully punctured because it already made a weak coffee. If Keurig wants to get fancy having a five hole puncture Coffee maker, then they need to make sure those things are razor sharp or else you have to warm up the machine in order for those things to fully puncture through. Every morning I have preheated water and I pour through the Pod holder. I make sure it is fully full and I shut the lid fast so the water can get the needles hot and wet so they have the ability to puncture through the coffee pods. It also flushes out old coffee and it also warms up my coffee cup so that my coffee is not so cold. Keurig has some serious modifications to make on their machines in order to have a nice cup of coffee, without me having to do all this extra work just to have a nice hot cuppa coffee. Making an old fashion coffee is still the best way where you use a cone filter. I preheat my water to 195° with my tea kettle and I poured through the old fashion cone shape filters into make up. I have done the same work checking the temperature of my coffee after it has perked. Making coffee the old fashion way is the optimum way ending up with a much hotter cup of coffee. The supreme coffee maker is the same one I bought from Costco. I thought the three temperature options was a good idea to until I found out that the Hottest temperature was still not hot enough. In order to make a good cuppa coffee your water temperature needs to reach 195°. If you prefer a cold or coffee, trust me your coffee is going to get cold very fast because the Keurig machine already makes the coffee too cold. Once your coffee is made you have to drink it rather hot because it gets cold very fast.
