I don't know if I missed something Adam, but as far as I can tell - and it seems to be confirmed by the example in the rules - you can cancel hazard tokens just gained from stick-shifting with the same roll.

You can cancel hazards just gained by shifting (using another shift die or free shift action via the template). What you cannot do is use a shift die to cancel the hazard gained by executing a spin or slide, since those actions are performed after the shift dice are used. You can however use a shift die to cancel a spin/slide die all together (and not perform the spin/shift).

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's what we followed throughout (I hope - we often make rules mistakes). In any case you can certainly use a shift dice to cancel the hazard gained by shifting Adam. That should make your games a lot easier! :)

Aha. Thanks. Ok, rereading rules I see that now. I can cancel hazards from shifting up or down. It's just new spins or slides that cannot be cleared until next time I roll shifts on dice. Cheers guys. Really fun video.

Remember you can cancel a spin or slide dice roll with a shift - you just can't cancel the hazards you get if you leave yourself with a spin or slide after resolving your dice. Sounds more complicated than it is really! :)

I was watching a Speed Freeks video the other day and someone mentioned this game, so I came straight to your site to look for gameplay, lol. I am glad I got it, it looks like a lot of fun, both playing the game and modding cars.

Yep, that was a mistake on my part, I picked up the set aside dice! You can only re-roll rolled skid dice, as you say. Usually we put the die on one of the shipping containers to keep it separate.

Errr, the only battle reports I've ever done have been with Will. :) Though I'll be introducing a new face as well this month. And there is a WotR video as part of battle report month, but as I've been mentioning for a couple of weeks, it's a bonus video only going out to Steward level ($5/month) or higher EOG supporters at this stage.

I never got the chance to try Dark Future here in Australia sadly but the car you showed from that one looks pretty bloody good. The boys all liked Warhammer and stuff but I'm a Mad Max bitch so the V8 apocalypse was always more my style 😂

The police one I converted years and years ago from a Hot Wheels car. There's one Dark Future car there from the old Games Workshop game (which is also where I got most of the weapons). But the rest were easily converted from cheap Hot Wheels cars. Check out my other video for tips on modding and painting your own. @@EsotericOrderGamers I didn't watch past where I stopped to see, but what I DID see was that your opponents' fun was stifled by your insistence on denying him the right to punish your error in template choice. I could FEEL the grin on his face as he stated the rule, he KNEW you had picked up the wrong template and was waiting for you to realize it, so he could have that joy of choosing one for you. His annoyance was palpable when you denied his satisfaction, and so was mine. So in that sense, fun was marred all around. When you deny a rule in a game, that is you asserting dominance and authority over your opponent, and the ruleset in general. It says "This is MY house, MY game, and MY rule is law." When you refuse to join your opponent in submitting to the ruleset, (except in a case where ignoring the rule is preferred by both parties, which obviously wasn't the case here.) Then you dash the concept of being equals to the stones and everything proceeding that instance becomes essentially just primates throwing dice.

Will and I have known each other and played games together (and played in bands together) for FORTY YEARS. It is beyond ridiculous that you're lecturing me on anything about our relationship and the way we play games. We BOTH do things like this all the time, and we good naturedly knock each other about it, move on and - if you'd bothered to watch beyond 3 minutes - have a fantastic time and lots of laughs. The idea that there is any 'dominance' going on, or that Will was actually annoyed, is absolutely laughable. Try considering that not everyone likes to play games the way you do, and that it's not actually possible to be a clever judge of character on the evidence of a single YT video moment. Also consider that I am not just playing a game here, I'm filming one for the entertainment of viewers. Filming a game, keeping up banter, and playing correctly all the time is not easy, and being a rules stickler is not entertaining. Perhaps it would have been more entertaining to stick to the template and suffer the consequences on the first move, I don't know, but in the heat of the moment I thought it would derail the game and the enjoyment of the game for viewers, so I made a quick call to keep things moving along. But in any case, Will and I *both* make mistakes, we give and take, we muck around, we have fun, and we don't lecture each other about rules (except for a laugh). It's all about having fun. That's the way WE like to play.

All of your points are valid, and I'm glad to see you making batreps of Gaslands in general. As an audience member, my feedback for this video still stands. You are correct that I shouldn't apply any analysis of character to the scenario.

@@eonhet7826 We really just don't take such things so seriously and that was an unusual occurrence right at the start, though I guess some people prefer strict interpretations (and I believe there have been several times - I can't remember if it happens in this video - that we have enforced the rule). I highly recommend you grin and bear that little speed bump, and watch the rest of the video, you might even enjoy it. Of course you may have to endure a few more hazy rules interpretations along the way which will probably drive you nuts. :)
