I believe this was a first 'pre season' event for the Battlefield Line and it certainly didn't disappoint the large crowds it attracted especially so soon after the big annual GCR event only a week previous.
The fact that the original 'guest loco' 6880 Betton Grange was unavailable didn't seem to deter visitors thanks to the late substitute of BR Standard 2MT 78018 being made available from it's nearby base on the GCR at Loughborough. She joined the existing on loan WR 'Prairie's 5199 & 4144 to provide an intensive service which included short shuttle runs between Shackerstone and Market Bosworth. Class 08 0-6-0 08701 was employed there on shunting duties and 'Driver For A Fiver' experiences.
This was a two day event and all my filming was on Sunday only, my thanks go to all involved for the organisation and friendly attitude shown by everyone....... This has to become an annual event I'm sure!!
Nice to meet up with @JakeBSteam & Jenny again as we often do Lol!!
