What concerns me was mentioned by Jackfrags perfectly: I'm worried about not recognizing classes by the looks of a soldier due to all the customizations coming to BF5. Hope DICE finds a way that you still be able to instantly recognize which kit/ role someone is.

One problem with that squad abilities thing is there is going to be potentially 16+ squad leaders in the game at once. That many abilities going off is going to be more obnoxious than grenade spam.

About those medic/supports that are not aware of teamplayers. You can also replenish ammo and health on a flag right? So that means that more people will be motivated to cap a flag instead of laying prone in the back of a map with a sniper. At least thats what i think.

Short time to kill= frustration getting shot in the back and side, not being able to peek etc. Snipers often underpowered Long time to kill= difficult to get multi kills, flank , encourages you to stay with teammates, snipers become OP or frustrating so there is a balance in my opinion bf1 was just right after the recent big weapon balance. You have to remember the negatives/positives of both.

I like the squad-focesed features. In previous Battlefield games i just joined a squad to have running spawnpoints and to get some easy extra points. Now you relay more on your squad, i might even plug in a mic now to coordinate more effectively.

I'm certainly not going to miss seeing selfish imbeciles getting into the driver's seat of a behemoth and parking it maddeningly far away because they're too scared to take it into the fight or because they want to waste it getting cheap kills.

Ah yes, making it easier to kill players by lowering the time to kill definitely makes it harder. No it makes it far easier for anyone to get a kill with any weapon. Additionally, Levelcap criticises the presence (or lack of) teamwork in Battlefield, specifically players supporting each other with health and ammo. He then essentially complains that players in BF1 are spending too much time helping each other and should instead prioritise on killing enemies. It seems quite evident to me that Levelcaps wants Dice to create weapons with high DPS and ammo capacity (to allow him to go on huge killstreaks on poorly skilled players) and that they should reward players for focusing on killing enemies over supporting the team in more passive facets. The only points that I agree with him on is Dice's often poor map design and the prevalence of grenades.

Whining about no one giving him ammo to then switch to mentioning how tossing ammo around allegedly does nothing for the team *facepalm*^^

I’m worried about differences in planes. If a certain plane has a better turning radius than another, dogfights are gonna be a nightmare and horribly unbalanced

If the ammo/ health becomes a problem during the beta they should be ready to implement the 'hardline ' system

"High Skill gunplay"? Yeah, just like the old days of battlefield 4 and the macros or binds to give the AEK no recoil... On a side note, you can't implement "Teamwork". You can implement incentives to get players to work together, but it's always up to the players if they are going to work together in the squads.

I wish vehicle combat became a lot more like warthunder arcade or realistic mode.

For the new ammo system, Support will have less ammo aswell which means no spawning in with 400+ rounds in your LMG which also means that you'll drop more ammo crates to refill yourself which in turn means everyone else gets ammo too. The system makes perfect sense. Couple that with bullet penetration and LMGs will be firing at a constant so supports will be dropping more crates than ever.

I'm concerned it's going to be a lot of surface changes, like a "new" movement system and a bunch of whacky characters in wide open maps. Maps in BF games have been getting progressively worse since BF4. The focused map design from bad Company 2 and BF3 are missed.

If dice just copies the tank mechanics from WOT (ap vs he ammo, angling, weakpoint, etc) for BFV then I'm sold

The thing about "I need ammo!" is that well in BF3-4, you weren't all that likely as a support for people around you to actually be out of ammo. It would give the "ammo low" alert on people who threw ONE FREAKING GRENADE. Frankly when you make it more common to run out of ammo, that hopefully will push players towards throwing out more packs, cause now they're ACTUALLY seeing more incidents of it.

Some p valid concerns except for the scoring thing. As far as I know your placement on leaderboards doesn't effect the exp you earn to level up. so the scoreboard issue is more of an ego thing. I understand your position but don't agree with calling it "fake" team work. One could easily twist your argument to sound like "I killed more people so I actually did something" which i'm sure is not what you actually mean. Also being able to clear a flag and take it doesn't mean you actually contributed a lot to the win. If the flag can't be held your kills were worth (as far as winning goes) as much as me reviving snipers on a ridge. Kills does reduce tickets. Which is important. But no amount of kills you make is going to matter if your team can't keep points. And this logic of kills being more important only applies to conquest. Something like rush doesn't care about kills.

Game is sounding more like squad that a plus for me

Two things about the video: 1) Give the squad leader the ability to execute (=teamkill) support players for insubordination if they don't drop ammo. 2) The tank clip where you run only in 3rd person view, and still mow down people accurately is a summary of everything that's wrong with BF1's (casual/arcady) vehicle mechanics.

No one complained about the realism of BF1, where you were able to bring a teammate back from the dead via sticking him with a needle in any part of his body, instantly rising him from the dead with perfect health.

You're so right about the scoring problems. It feels like it's more encouraging high scores than encouraging a win. Playing BF4 conquest atm feels like a merry-go round, where both teams just go in circles around the map flipping points because that's what gets you the most points. Not only is defending a point impossible with uncoordinated team-mates, if you somehow manage to halt the other team, you're rewarded with less points than if you'd just walked over and capped a point without ever seeing an enemy. It's not battlefield, it's capfield.

The fun thing about WW2 ground vehicle and especially air battles are that modern systems like Air to Air missiles or gatling guns for planes and stable turrets for tanks are missing. No lock- on bs or stable shots over 1 km at 50 km/h, just pure hit or miss

Thank you! The limited ammo and health is a very risky addition. Especially when DICE are targeting newcomers and casual players to the series with their battle royale and odd customization. Battlefield V is going to be an absolute nightmare if there isn't any penalty coming for not supporting your teammates. Also long killstreaks will be much harder when you have to risk yourself by meeting up with a possibly strategical inferior battlefield player to get ammo and health.

I like the concept of the attrition system. When I first played BF1, it was only scouts and assaults...I would love a scenario where people have incentive to play the other classes more than previous BF games.

To get passed this problem it would be ideal if Dice implemented a system similar to that of Hardline's where one can simply take health/ammo from a player without them dropping it

A couple of things I've not seen anyone discussing 1. When the support tosses you ammo is it going to prevent you from firing, ads, or affect accuracy. 2. Can the support/medic spam ammo/health packs to troll you. 3. Can you destroy friendly fortifications. I forsee people trapping squad mates (lol) or destroying the fortification as soon as you build it. 4. In the gadget options I saw throwing knifes please dice no across the map throwing knife in the big toe instant death. 5. How long/far can you drag teammates and when being dragged can you not skip the revive. I forsee medics dragging you around for 5 min while u can't escape then throwing you out of bounds. Just some questions I had on the new features on how they will be used to possibly troll we will have to wait to play it to test everything so I know these questions can't be answered yet just funny ways I though of trolling with them.

Stop hating on the game regarding realism. BF was never a realistic shooter.. the single player campaign will be historically accurate, the multiplayer wont be. Personally i cant wait for this game. My only concern is they dont fuck with the customisation too much.

Since BF3 these games have gotten way too fast-paced. Remember when sprinting was a movement tool and not just.. the only way you move forward now? When was the last time you ran forward in a Battlefield game without shooting/sprinting? There's no downside to sprinting and being the fastest gun in the west. Give me cover and a reason to use it.

The main thing thats bothering me: During the reveal, the devs emphasized how immersive this game should be but then they showed me a squad, that from the looks of them it seemed like they would have fit quite well in a ww2 themed borderlands or left for dead game. In my opinion such customization options would immediately break the immersion.

One way to fix grenade spam would be to limit grenades to certain classes and make them non replenish-able from ammo boxes. Like a grenadier could have 2 but the other classes may not even get any. Which I think would mitigate it. However, I think the issue goes deeper than that. You have a relatively quick respawn time in battlefield which means as soon as you die you can respawn practically instantly with fresh ammo and grenades. You'd either need to slow down the respawn time or introduce a wave spawn mechanic like every 30-40 seconds you can respawn but you only get like a 5-10 second window to do so until you need to wait for the next wave.

Quit sobbing because the game doesn't cater to your needs specifically. Pretty much every last one of your videos for the last 2 years. Crying nonstop. How about, learning to play a new game, rather than wanting the same damn thing year after year after year. I seriously don't understand what kind of game it is you want. I mean, a "tactical" game(I'm pretty sure you misunderstand the meaning of this word. Flanking the enemy, isn't really a tactic. It's a manuver. Tactics are a bit more large scale than a single person or squad. I suggest reading "the art of war" it'll explain) is going to reward players for actions that are beneficial for the TEAM. And I'm sorry, but getting a few kills doesn't really accomplish much of anything. Especially if you run off objective chasing a lone sniper miles away and the enemy takes the objective anyhow.

I hope tanks can rely on infantry to maneuver like in BF4. Infantry can take out anti tank guns, repair tanks, and maybe build a bridge to cross. This would be a cool feature for engineers or scouts

I never got BF1 and I don't regret it. I am looking forward to seeing what DICE puts out with BFV. Some of the stuff in BF1 reminds me of the ol' CTE forum for BF4 and a lot of that stuff was suggested by the community (I'll gladly take credit/blame for squad leaders being given call-in power). Anyway, one thing I tried to push back then that I think is still relevant now is the idea that winning should be emphasized over a scoreboard. Let me put it this way. When you watch a sporting event how do they display stats during a game? Sometimes its players, but mostly it's team stats. How many shots on goal? Yards gained? Hits? Etc. The reason they do this is that it's telling a more complete narrative about how a team is performing and areas where they might need to improve throughout the game. Sure, sometimes individual player stats get splashed across the screen if a player is dominating or having an off-night. But usually we see how the team is collectively doing, often compared to previous games or a league average. Thus, I think the BF scoreboard should reflect team performance across a variety of metrics. A breakdown of the number of each class on your team, the amount of ammo/health given, the number of revives, etc. versus that of the other team can give players an easy clue as to what is going wrong. If your team overall has low ammo deployed versus the other team, it could be that your team needs more support dropping ammo. It may not tell the whole story, but it's better than chasing the top of an arbitrary scoring system. Because, in team sports, different players have different, yet just as vital roles. Let's take American Football. The QB (tanker) takes a lot of the blame/glory, but the performance of his linemen (engineers) is also absolutely crucial, even if their role is not as sexy as lobbing bombs. End of round score screens should show you personal metrics, as well as averages for that round so you can still compare yourself skillwise to other players playing that role. But the primary score screen should pull up team based metrics to help give players an easy read on what to do if they aren't winning a battle.

They did say in the reveal that you could loot bodies for ammo since no one seems to want to bring that up

Who remembers the old days of games when we had to down load the game from a million of discs and there were so many problems with the games but no one complained because we were just happy we were experiencing something so awesome? Gamers now adays are way to spoiled.

Operations needs to give bonuses to players who can't finish the entire operation. Its really frustrating when you have a limited time to play a game and the mode only rewards people who can spend an hour+ to finish a multiple map operation

One thing they do in TitanFall 2 in a mode called bounty, players accumulate money from killing, the best players having the most money and the ability to steal part of that cash from them if you kill them. In that game you have to drop off the bounty to a bank but that isnt the point. The point is you want to hunt down the big fish and take down the king when you play it. It incentivices something not seen in its other modes. Also one their sophomore release they have not stopped trying to create more fun and modes, something Dice can learn from. Now this may seem way off from the point, but all I am saying is there are game modes and dynamics that can easily change the same game if they wished to with very little effort. I didnt see them make much of an effort since BF3 to do anything fun with games though. Their efforts since scavenger and other modes they created have been to cash on on in content cash and it showed. No risks for the sake of fun, no daring ideas to push the envelope,etc. If they have indeed decided to try, then anything is possible and balance can be achieved to make a fun game. If they want to just keep milking players, then it will fail badly.

I think the customization is pretty great. It might not be authentic but it has some sense of reality there.

Something that we already know of off an interview is that there will apparently be hitmarkers when you hit someone through a wall. That is just dumb. Imagine the amount of times bad players will just sit on the other side of a wall and spam through it until they get a hitmarker and when they finally do they just keep shooting at that spot. The player on the other side did probably nothing wrong except for moving through that house or whatever it is he/she is moving through. Rainbow Six Siege works because there aren't any hitmarkers when you shoot through a wall and hit someone (except for blood splatters on the enemy). Either implement the shooting through walls right or not at all

Here's a few things I'd like to see... A decent HUD compass, promixity VOIP, massive maps with airfields, commander assets to repair and destroy, a scavenger mode on steroids, no more flashing grenades, dorito spotting and flag border outlines. ;) A game where you don't have all the squads following each other around the map...

The rare time that I play support or medic (usually I play aggressive sniper), I always throw bandages or ammo packs to everyone even if they are not asking, just spamming it.

There should be some setting where it turns off all the immersion breaking, cosmetic garbage and instead switches everyone's cloths to what they actually would've been wearing

There will always be "metro" meat grind maps in battlefield because they're so popular with the point grinders. I really hate those maps but I always end up on them.

The one thing I don't know if I like, and will have to wait till I see it is everyone being able to revive now. None medics take longer, but I still think this might cause some ridiculous revive trains.

How about conquest battlezone time, it gives you more points for capping a flag if it is contested longer. So if you go with your whole team to the first flag, you get almost no points, but if you fight with your team/squad around a flag and then capture that flag you get much more points.
