I'm hoping to pick up some speed now I'm into 2023. The goal is by the end of the year to have covered all the Succession Wars, or at the very least reached 3025.

Jihad Hotspots: Terra actually talks quite a bit about all the efforts made to restore Earth's climate to a more balanced state. Obviously having fusion tech from earlier 21st century helps, but they've more or less got a handle on pollution and the likes. No Blade Runner-esque future-Earth in BattleTech.

The mention of Blake reminded me of something I've occasionally wondered about. It's obvious that BT gets a lot of names, for worlds ships and people, from films, books and TV shows. The story of Blake as a fighter against a dictatorship, and becoming the leader of a movement, is not too dissimilar a story to a different Blake, Roj Blake from the British Sci-fi Blake's 7. I wonder if that's where they got his name from.

I'm afraid I don't know. I've gotten mine from various sourcebooks I own. The Turning Points and Touring the Stars books always have one for their respective planet.

Can you please do something about identifying which side different names are on? I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge lf the setting and just saying "general blank-blank" means nothing to me without knowing which side they're on.

Yeah, I did that in some of the early videos but inconsistently, usually when I didn't have a picture. I have an idea which I'll try to implement in the upcoming videos. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey again there. I took your advice and implemented an extra layer to the project. Now whenever I display a name and there's no portrait to identify them, I display a faction logo alongside the name to make it clear what side they're on. You can see it in the latest video I've done if you haven't already. Thanks again for the feedback.

It is still hilarious to me that writers always talk about the "enormous fortune" of the Catholic Church. Basically all assets of the church are region by region and mostly tied up in maintenance, charity, and staff, and thr only income is donations. The great artworks were basically all donations as well. Liquid assets have always been minimal, so the seizure of Church land for wealth has typically disappointed tyrants, unless it was the land itself they wanted (at least past the viking era where some gold reliquaries would go farther because the economy was poorer).

Think it was certain WW2 dictator he was referring to, but perhaps I misinterpreted it. There are a lot of parallels between the Amaris Empire and WW2 Germany, several we haven't covered yet. It doesn't go well for either in the long run.

Finally. I thought this channel died. On a serious note I think you should reconsider guest voice overs. They might seem like a nice feature but clearly this one time it failed you big time. At least have a back up policy that covers your risks and make sure your partners understand it thoroughly and agree cuz it's your neck on the line.

The channel never dies! Even when I'm not uploading I'm still working on things. Nobody has failed me. It's just folks had other priorities as Christmas and then New Year came around. I would have liked a shorter gap between episodes but people have lives, jobs and their own channels to manage. I do give a rough timeframe at the outset but sometimes unexpected things crop up. It's been tremendously rewarding to collaborate with other channels I enjoy watching (many for years before I started myself). That said, the plan was always for this to be a special project for the Fall of the Star League. I won't be doing it for the Succession Wars so you'll see more regular uploads from me once the Civil War is finished.

@Sven van der Plank OP is talking about how the VAs were clowning on the video. My guess is you're cool with it since you included it, plus the poo slime graphic. It was too bad, especially comparing this series to your Reunification War series. The unprofessional VAs have been consistently jarring in the videos. Which is too bad because I think I get what you're trying for.

@@Ashasverus He was referring to the delay (comment was made before the video went live). There's lots of different BT creators, each with their own style. I'm sorry if it comes off as jarring to switch between them but they're all channels I've enjoyed watching and I wouldn't want them to drop or flatten their own personalities to better match my own matter-of-fact (some would say boring) delivery. Either way, it's my intention to see it through for the Star League Civil War but it'll be just myself again for the Succession Wars. Apologies if that's not what you would want.

One- and only one- issue with this video: what's with the talking turd emoji for Nerdy Overanalyzed's parts? It's annoying and very distracting. You've done a great job making these videos mature and professional- that monstrosity decreases that professionalism.

It's Nerdy Overanalyzed's slime avatar. It's a key part of his channel identity so was happy to include it since I enjoy his videos quite a lot. Sorry if you find it distracting. He has been helping me out with this episode and will be back again for the next one but after that I'm rotating through to some of the other channels who've collaborated with me earlier in the series.

There have been a few people I reached out to who I either never heard back from or who didn't have the time. Honestly, it's become quite tricky to manage everything across so many so I think I'm just going to continue through as is. Open to working with others in the future but planning to cover the Succession Wars by myself.
