There's alot to confess on my end and before I'm ready to help others fight that battle, I have mine to contend with as well. I don't want people to end up like me in that regard. Take to a priest and confess it.

Now, of course, there are people who are called to that sort of ministry and we should be happy that we have such excellent examples of boldness of faith. However, the average man is not ready for that sort of life. But that does not mean you cannot affect those around you by your actions and living as a faithful Christian. Christianity is a religion that spreads by example. Strive for virtue through Christ, and your life and actions can serve as an example to those around you. You must also realize, however, there are some people who will choose to remain in the dark, as sad as that is. Even many of those who heard the teachings of Paul brushed him off and did not believe. @@RantTherapist This is an important distinction you made, I often catch myself during meditation worrying about whether the bad thoughts and desires I observe without judging could turn into something I will consider neutral/good simply because I would disconnect these from my negative view of them. It's almost like one is scared of submission to these temptations once you stop actively denying them.

Hey man I’m struggling along right with you. Although I’m still stuck in this evil, I do have advice from having battled it for so long. I’ve found that having more pictures of Christ around me helps. I also find it easier to avoid when I am not lazy. There is always something that needs to be done so go do it. Sitting there on your phone almost always leads to a relapse for me. Feast on the scriptures.

I am not Orthodox, so can you kindly explain why you mention the number 41 for the amount of prostrations? I don't understand the origin of that number. 40 is the number for completion. Catholics either stand, or kneel continuously during prayer at Holy Mass, but we also do prostration for eucharistic adoration. Not repeatedly, just maintaining the prostration for some time. Especially the monks - they will just prostrate and stay in that pose for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or more.

When jesus christ was whipped they would count to 40 and say they lost count and do it all over again.we prostate 41 times to remember the pain of our lord Jesus Christ and repent .

These are some thoughts I have and if you’d be willing, I’d like to hear your take on them. You seem like a fellow who’s more knowledgeable than I in this. The idea of not relying on my own strength and completely leaning on another is completely alien to me. Hell I only begrudgingly do it with my own family. In fact I find the concept of humanity being so weak almost offensive and almost dismissive. We are not perfect beings by any stretch of the imagination but through a combination of force of will and sheer numbers we’ve survived everything that has been thrown at us. Even if millions die in the process, we as a people still remain. I don’t see the point of continuing on if nothing is possible without being held up or even puppetted by another. No achievement is yours, no struggle was truly overcome, no danger was ever truly survived. You just got carried through life by another more mighty than you. What’s the purpose of that? Can you even say that you lived your own life? I guess in a grander sense I struggle with the idea that we were given the ability to choose, yet we’re dissuaded from ever making a choice beyond the choice that was already laid out before us. To me that seems unimaginably cruel. Imagine being a sentient puppet with it’s own motivations and goals, but all it can do is whatever it’s master commands of it. To me that’s hell, that’s just inconceivable. It’s bordering on cosmic horror. I genuinely hope that I’m just seeing this incorrectly, but I can’t help but see the parallels between some descriptions of god and the petty tyrants that have run across this world. It just rings alarm bells in my head as a man who’s suspicious of any kind of power whatsoever because I’ve been on the other end of that proverbial shotgun. I’ve been beneath the boots of tyrants and I never, ever want to be there again. I’d rather embrace oblivion than be there again.

Believe me, being a Christian and leaning on God does not mean life is easy, or that day to day living will be simple and without its ups and downs. In fact, while we do lean on Christ and place our faith in Him that through it all we will be okay and find peace, there is much struggle and internal strife. He does not force our choices on us, and there has been very few choices in my life that i feel as though my relationship with God has pressured me into making, save for things that are very clearly outlined in the Bible as being wrong. Depending on others, and using their strength to brace and support ourselves is far from weakness. As someone who also has struggled with feeling as though i should be able to handle everything on my own without help from anyone, we need it. As humans we are social creatures, it’s hard wired into us, and introverted as i am, im not sure id be here were it not for the people who support me and the love and grace of God. a verse that i feel may be applicable to this is a verse many people take out of context but it is Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” it means that through everything, we will be able to persevere, through the Lord, no matter the circumstance or situation. i hope this was useful to you, and not just ramblings. i pray that God would guide you to Him, and give you a desire to be near to Him and learn and read His word. it really does. when i started weed, i would have a addiction to porn where i did it more than usual. i never lost my virginity but it made that drive to lose it even harder. Ik im still in da wrong but i made a promi to Goddat i would wait till marriage. the only reason i dont have sex with my current gf. I just want to wuit cuz i get filled with guilt in watching porn. this video came on my feed, the day i thought about quitting. i just know it was God cuz i never watch videos like these.
