In the last away game of 2000/01, Yeovil battled to a 2-1 win at Telford. With top scorer Warren Patmore sidelined by injury and Barrington Belgrave suspended, the Glovers were forced to play defender Terry Skiverton up front with James Bent. Bent was kicked out of the game by Telford's defence, leaving the Glovers with a second half strike force of two central defenders. Despite this, one of them - Paul Steele - got the winner and Yeovil clung on to take the title race into the last week of the season.
