Though they said they didn't think they would ever get a hurricane in Grenada, let alone this early in the season, they're preparing as best they can.

You never know who's trying a sneaky insurance scam. most companies won't pay out for named storms, but im sure you could find some. also, when you are dealing with a cat 4 storm, you drop everything and FLEE! its not a "ill take my chances and ride it out" type storm at that point.

I'm confused on where they were just before. They should of docked the boat and took the first flight out yesterday even days ago the path was always coming right to them

As for me, I will leave riding out hurricanes in about 40 foot boats off my bucket list.. I wouldn't even want to be on a huge cruse ship in one, but, at least they have crews that are trained well to handle things..

I couldn’t agree with you more and what the hell are they still doing on their boat? Why wouldn’t they be on land or sailed to another island?

a hurricane is something serious and destroys normals peoples homes and livelihoods, cannot compare with any of those things (they are bad dont get me wrong but peoples houses are destroyed into pieces with hurricanes)...now as for this couple idk why they news is giving them spotlight, they put themselves in that sitaution and see it as an "adventure" while islanders are losing their houses

In 1995 luis totally destroyed my island St Martin. Those boat ppl from outside didnt listen to gov to get to safe ground. Well all who stayed on their boats, are no longer in the land of the living. Not even their bodies was found... Some ppl think that hurricane is like what they have in Europe etc Lil wind and rain... Hmmmmm

Except for an entire French family, man woman child dog who disappeared after their boat sank, I spoke to many people in the boatyards about 6 months later, where they were repairing their boats they had been on for the storm. I sailed there from the states on the same 29’ sailboat the captain had weathered the storm aboard in Simpson Bay Lagoon. All very much alive, but everyone agreed that in the future they would sail away from the hurricane belt. Which is what everyone thought Grenada was.

In the US boaters either go up to Mass/Maine/Canada or down to Grenda or south to avoid hurricanes during hurricane season. This is the norm for boat owners. Keep in mind boat hurricane insurance is super expensive if you can even find it. SO this is why boaters go to these areas including this young couple who are trying to save their home. This couple was doing the right thing by sailing down to Grenda to avoid hurricanes. unfortunately, other natural has other ideas of where hurricanes are going to go. This is a huge hurricane Cat 4-5. So be kind to this couple & pray that they & all the boaters & home owners on these islands will be safe as the hurricane goes past them. 🙏 ps a few years ago a hurricane went all the way up to Canada too.

you obviously are clueless about hurricane insurance for boaters. Boaters go to Grenada or north to Mass, Maine, Canada or Europe to protect their boats during hurricane season. Why? Because hurricane boat insurance is very expensive for boat owers & some many many times very difficult to find (such as the last 4 years) to buy. So to protect their asset (aka their boat) boat owners move their boat south to Grenada or south of Grenada into South America or way up north in the US or take their boat accross the atlantic to Europe for safety so that they have boat insurance (other then for hurricanes). Your comment is very ignorant. Get educated. This couple did the right thing bring their boat down to Grenada for protection during hurricanes season. Unfortunately this year a cat 4-5 is heading towards which is HIGHLY unusual. Be kind.

Uumm... They clearly didn't do their research very well, because Grenada has had a few very serious hurricanes in the past. I'm not sure who told them that there's no hurricanes there, but they were misinformed. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Best wishes to these two and all the boat & home owners on all the islands. 🙏 For those that are not being kind to this couple. Keep in mind this boat IS their home. Keep in mind too that hurricane boat insurance is extremely expensive if, you can even find insurance these days as it's very difficult these days for homes/boat/car hurricane insurance coverage. The reason why people take their boats down this far in the carribean is this is out of hurricane belt and they will have regular insurance coverage (but, still not for hurricanes). Meaning if this hurricane destroys their home they are then homeless. BE KIND EVERYONE in the comment section. This is a extremely stressful time for this couple & everyone in the Islands that will get the hurricane winds/high seas etc. Life is hard no matter where you live lots of natural disasters. So again, BE KIND & support your fellow citizens no matter where they live & how they live (on land or on a boat). 💙 update: ps this couple & their boat & other boaters are safe after the hurricane passed. here is their vid titled: Aftermath in Grenada of Hurricane Beryl ch The Adventure Crews Praying everyone is safe on land too. 🙏

Grow UP! They CHOSE to remain in the storm rather than safely FLEE when their home is MOBILE. You have NO right even daring to compare that to actual islanders who cannot relocate without losing their homes. This story is total BS.
