As an American, I’m always so impressed by the Prince of Wales. He’s had some real tragedy in his life, grown up in a fish bowl, a child of a contentious divorce, lost his mother at 15 in a terrible accident, and had his privacy invaded again and again. And yet he has not only gotten on with it, he used his training to fly helicopters for Search & Rescue missions, and doubtless saved countless lives. He epitomizes someone who counts his blessings and not his burdens. He continues to serve. The UK is so lucky to have him & his lovely wife and children. God Save the King!

What about everyone else who has had tragedy in their lives, who doesn’t get any special attention for “getting on with it” or not? Yes he’s had tragedy in his life. It doesn’t make him any more special than anyone else who manages to live a good life despite bad circumstances. And let’s face it - he hasn’t got to build a career. He hasn’t got bills to pay. He hasn’t got the fear of being a victim of crime or the fear of providing for his children. Everything’s taken care of for him. Meanwhile there are children relying on the kindness of others to have food to eat. Food poverty, general poverty and inequality is out of control in this country, and these people are part of the problem. Getting rid of them won’t stop poverty but it would send a pretty clear message that everyone is born equal in terms of the rights they have access to, the amount of care they deserve to be treated with, and where they stand in the social hierarchy.

It’s Prince William loyalty to his family and duty that made him credible, dignified, genuine and regal on his speech. We believe him. We all know that he meant it. As he had showed us in his deeds . My heart just swelled with pride hearing Prince William’s beautiful speech. Tears of joy. And I’m just a cousin from across the pond! But having remembered when William was first born and watching him grow up - now seeing the man of poise, grace and compassion that he has become - it just is so heartwarming to watch. @@timneji erm, no. Whatever ‘foundation’ William has is from his granny, not his cheating father, who was too busy being a ‘tampon’ to be a father. By what I’ve seen/heard/read, when William was at Eton, he spent MUCH time with Granny, learning his history. I think chuckles knows that, however long he’s king, he should have gone away with the nasty mistress, let William and Catherine be crowned.

He’s a f*cking millionaire who gives away a small amount of the money he got for free by being born into the right family. He’s probably better than many of the politicians elected to parliament, but he still doesn’t deserve the wealth and power he or anyone else in his family possess. What a wonderful speech! Like King Charles I lost my mother last year and she had also the same name like Queen Elizabeth. So Williams words about the proud mother in heaven looking onto their child touches me very deep 😢 God save the King 🇬🇧 🇩🇪

I believe Prince William and King Charles lll are equally proud of each other. What a beautiful and moving speech. This is the second time I have watched it and it's made me cry both times. I am American, but I love England, the monarchy, the royal family, and the commonwealth! God save the King, and protect and watch over the family, the country, and the commonwealth!

The King was so very touched by that speech. He absolutely loves his son and values his support. As a Canadian, I am so proud to be in the commonwealth. I miss the Queen terribly, but Charles is a good man and will be a great leader. This family looks stronger than ever.

Charles is NOT a "good man." He proved that by cheating on his wife Princess Diana and breaking her heart, ruining her life and hurting their sons who had to live with the public scandal and humiliation. And Camilla is NOT a "good woman." You can put ermine robes and crowns on two unrepentant adulterers, it doesn't change who they are or what they did. Shameful for Charles to be crowned as head of the Church of England.

As a member of the commonwealth australia has been on the kings Rd to his kingship always being told one day he will be king all those years of duty he's a fine king I respect him emrnsly I met him as a kid on one of his many trips for polo and I think Diana would definately be the queen of hearts but sadly that was not to be and one day William will be king and we will all be very proud cheers .

What a lovely speech so clear and uplifting and also so good to tell us what his father has done and achieved all these years. These positive things need to be told so that we can get a better understanding of what Charles and Camilla and his other Royal family members who are close to him like prinses Anne, prins Edward and Sofie and William and his family has and trying to achieve for people , with all their charities that they are involved in. A sample that is so desperately needed.

When William said ‘Pa…’ it reminded me of how Charles always referred to the Queen as ‘mummy’ amid chuckles… A lovely moment. Also reminded me of my own father I lost almost 2 years ago. I called him ‘Pa’ because that’s what he’d called his father… Nice to hear it still being used.
