Matty wrote down a quote for me that I will never forget: “to create a life and your own meaning is difficult to achieve, but it is still allowed.” I’ll never forget it, and I keep this intimate piece of them with me when I think about how big they have gotten, and it makes me smile! :) that’s exactly what we are all still trying to do!

As a middle aged bloke I’d completely dismissed The 1975 as being shite for years despite never really having heard them. I’m 44. I’m allowed to do shit like that while grumbling under my breath. Then I saw them play this on Later with Jools Holland. One deep dive into all their stuff later and I think Matty Healy is a fucking genius and they’re one of the best and most original bands on the planet. Lesson learned.

There’s not much going right in life at the moment but the The 1975 sounding better than ever honestly makes it all a little more worthwhile.

Everyone has polarizing opinions about the 1975 but the reason they continue to be my favorite band is because they operate on a higher frequency than a lot of other artists. Each and every time they never fell to bring a studio song to life in the live version. The vibrations they emit paired with sweet harmonies and melodies are simply top tier. I will forever love this band!!!!! 💗💗

Went to leeds festival 2022 was really gutted when rage against the machine pulled out and disliked the 1975 without ever really hearing their stuff. Watched them and loved them ever since now well and truely hooked.
