Im in central indiana! Were doing the same thing with mowing 4 days and landscaping 4 days! Just wish we didnt take loans on 2 trucks and 2 mowers. This has inspired me to become more frugal!

I started with a shovel and take now I own 3 different companies and I was on foot for 3months before I purchased my first car that I hauled a mower for the last 8months of the year and than I purchased a Harbor freight trailer and the rest was history

Owners need to get your spray license and let the trucks operate under you. That's where the time and money is gained.

Awesome business this guy has. Only recommendation would be to add a small amount of debt to his capital structure. Debt free sounds nice but when scaling a business a small amount of leverage greatly increases return on equity.

@@bblawncarekc Sure. Technically speaking the more debt you use, the higher the return is on your investment, but also the higher the risk. For example, say you have a $50,000 piece of equipment that makes you $25,000 a year. If you paid cash for the equipment, your return on investment would be 50% (25,000/50,000). However, if you borrowed 25k and then used 25k of your own money to purchase the equipment, your return on investment would be 100% instead of 50%. You could then use the 25k you saved by borrowing and buy another piece of equipment and so on.

@@bblawncarekc basically. Person A spends 7k on used truck and 10k on mower. Let's say he makes 120k a year. But person B put a down payment on a 7k truck that was 2k and got a zero down no interest loan on the mower to do the same 120k. Person A spent 17k in year one to get 120k while person B spent around 7k to bring in the 120k. Person B also has enough to start 2 crews with the same amount of money on year one.

No risk/ headache then no reward. You want to mow grass when your 65? Not me that's why a larger business is better to have the headache now work hard invest the cash in realstate Roth accounts ect.
