EXO is pronounced XO, and the fandom is EXO-L. EXO debut in 2012 as a Korean-Chinese group and was divided into 2 sub-units, EXO-K (sing in Korean) and EXO-M (sing in Mandarin). In 2014 - 2015, 3 Chinese members left due to various issues. And that left the group with 8 Koreans (Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun) and 1 Chinese (Lay), so they combined the sub-unit and became EXO till now. In 2018, because of political issues between S. Korea and China, Lay could not perform with EXO members and went on to become one of the top 5 Cpop Idols in China. But the relationship between the 2 countries has just recently improved, so Lay got to be in the 2021 EXO special album for the fans, Don't Fight the Feeling. EXO is a vocal-oriented group and leans more towards R&B. Also called the vocal kings of kpop. All 9 members are vocalists including the rappers. EXO also have 2 very successful sub-units, EXO-SC (Sehun & Chanyeol - the rap line) & EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun & Xiumin - the vocal line). Out of 9 members, 7 (Lay, Chen, Suho, Baekhyun, D.O., Xiumin & Kai) already have successful solo albums. EXO are very well known for their live performance and they are even better live than on CD. Main vocalists are Baekhyun, Chen and D.O. But THEY ALL FCKN SING! Do not compare them to other kpop groups, Exo is on another dimension. They’re the most successful kpop group in the world, recent estimates to worth US$ 1 Billion. Newer kpop fans and listeners from the US and western countries may not be familiar with them but they are insanely huge in Asia. Past few years members have had to do mandatory military service, and have little promotions lately, but their albums and songs still rank within top 5 of most South Korea, Chinese, Japanese and other streaming platforms that westerners don’t use. Their discography is insane and THEY ARE THE BLUEPRINT. You cannot compare them to other kpop groups because their VOCALS and rap are just on another level. Watch any live Exo concert video and you will quickly see they are better at live performances than a lot of American artists. I would say much better than any recent grammy or superbowl performances. I have seen Beyonce and Jayz VIP front of stage live in Berlin, Bruno Mars in Manila, Guns n Roses in Singapore, Adam Lambert, etc but they I truly believe the live vocal arrangements, choreo, harmonies and stage production in Exo concerts are better (I have never seen Exo live only in videos because I’m a newer fan) plus it’s impossible to score their tickets! They hold the Guinness record for fastest sold out concert tickets 0.2 sec for 66,000 tickets. They also have the best selling Chinese solo artist of all time - Lay, and best selling South Korean solo artist of all time - Baekhyun. They are actually known for being a vocal group but they have one of the best dancers of kpop . You should react to some of their other songs as well like Tempo , love shot , obsession, growl ( This one gave them huge popularity ), call me baby etc . Actually almost all of their title tracks are hit songs .

EXO is one of my favorite groups. They lean towards RnB with their sound. They are also great dancers. I recommend yall check out Tempo, Love Shot, Power and Obsession. Growl was the song that was their first big hit. It has all the original 12 members. 3 members left the group between 2014 and 2015. If you want to check out their more RnB side I recommend the songs What If, and Moonlight. The first time I heard these songs it reminded me of 90s RnB just in Korean.

EXO is BTS's senior. Interestingly, given your comment, they are called the Powerhouse of Kpop because of their success, popularity and talents. They can all sing and they can all dance, the talent is so genuine that they famously sound even better live than in the studio as they love performing. From their members, Baekhyun is a multimillion selling solo artist, Lay is one of the most successful solo artists in China, Chen, Kai, Suho, D.O. and Xiumin are all very successful, award winning soloists and their main rapper Chanyeol is a much admired writer, producer, singer and musician. When you asked who was singing - all of them! Same for the dancing. Their two main dancers include Kai who is often rated as the best dancer in Kpop (always in the top group, but this is a matter of personal taste) and Lay who is a mentor and judge on a huge street dance series in China. They are Asia's First Pick, so huge in Asia but relatively unknown here as they have been on hiatus since 2019 due to military enlistment and the fact that they have never really pushed for recognition in the west.

I had just gotten up and out of bed to start my day. And I saw EXO and three new reactors! So I’m back in bed to watch. I hope you do more! I like you guys. Everything they do is “fire”! And you will be bombarded with suggestions from the EXO-Ls (fans). Definitely try to catch as many live concerts as you can. Some of my favorites: El Dorado, Baby Don’t Cry, Play Boy, Lotto, Love Shot. Coming Over. Oh! And Acoustic (if you ever dare think they lip sync. There are several guides out there to help you put names to faces. I can’t always recognize their voices, but they are distinct and are the best at layering, runs, vibrato, ad-libs, and harmonizing, pure gold. The high tenors, falsettos , and head voices are usually Chen, DO(dee oh), and Baekyun(bake yun). But Xiumin (shoe man) can hit some high ones, as can Suho. There’s also a storyline to their music. They’re aliens sent to earth to save us from the evil red forces.

Check their live performance of MAMA, Monster and Wolf at the EXORDIUM in Japan, I don’t know if you are aware that Japan has the most stringent rules for artists performing in their country therefore no autotune is allowed. Another fact is that that concert holds a world record Guiness for the fastest ever concert sold in the world at 0.02 seconds. Yes leyends indeed. Loved the reaction. In order to understand the story in EXO's "Monster" MV, as well as all of EXO's content, you have to know that it's all connected, and every new piece that's introduced explains a little more of EXO's story. Each MV is like another chapter in SM Entertainment's SM Culture Universe storyline and it's all part of a larger story that also includes the majority of SM's other groups' and artists' storylines. It's like one giant graphic novel or mystery movie series. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything -- including all of their MVs, the majority of their sub-sub-unit MVs and members' solo MVs, teaser videos, concert stages, concert VCRs (videos played in between sets at concerts) and choreography, as well as special content included with their albums, etc. -- is designed to help tell a little more of EXO's story. EXO debuted back in 2012, and from the very beginning their concept is that they are aliens from Planet Exo who have come to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. And as otherworldly beings, each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them. "Monster" was released in 2016, so there are 9 members in this MV. As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." So the floating watch and the car that is on fire in reverse, etc., I think was -- on top of being a metaphor in the story -- also supposed to be the members using their superpowers. And the snake, like a monster, mirrors the beat of the song, which kind of slithers like a snake as a metaphor for the way the guy slithers in and out of the relationship stealing warmth and affection from the girl, but in the end, leaving her cold and alone like a cold-blooded snake, etc. The snake is also red, which means that it most likely represents something to do with the the Red Force. If you want to know what the song is about, you should look up the English translation of the lyrics, because the song has very little to do with the story in the MV. In the song the members are talking about a girl and they are telling the girl that "You can call me Monster" because I know I am bad for you and I will ruin you. I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. But the MV is about EXO's origin story and about the fact that they have come to Earth on a mission. Also, the majority of the choreography for "Monster" has to do with the members using their powers, so when/if you watch the dance practice and/or a live performance, if you know what you are looking for, you will see that each move is done for a very specific reason. The X they make to represent EXO is only the beginning of the story in their choreography. For example, D.O. has the power of super strength, so during his part in the song and choreography you will see that he waves his hands and the other members are pushed away from him or pulled toward him. When you see Suho in the middle of the group and they have a hold of his arms, he rotates his body around like swirling water because Suho has the power to control water. Xiumin has the power to control snow/ice/frost, so during one part of the choreography you will see that each of the members pause as if frozen as he moves in front of them. You see Kai slide backward and forward into the center of the group while waving his arms to represent him teleporting. And when Chanyeol, the rapper, jumps over Lay, Sehun and Xiumin, this could be him using his phoenix fire wings to fly, or it could be showing him leaping over flames because his power is the ability to control fire. Sehun has the power to control wind, so during his parts, you will see the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm. And the part where they are sitting on the ground is supposed to represent a sundial -- EXO gets their power from the eclipse and their powers are affected by planetary and solar phenomenon, so the sundial is meant to represent the passing of time and their connection to the sun. You should also make note that "Lotto" is a prequel to "Monster," so when you watch their "Lotto" MV, just keep in mind that what you saw happen in "Monster" is what is going to take place after or in conjunction with the events in "Lotto". How "Monster" and "Lotto" tie into EXOs larger storyline is a little open ended, but because "Lotto" is thought to be the prequel to "Monster," I think the story starts out in "Lotto" where the members have somehow infiltrated this big gambling ring and are undercover as they work to uncover a clue or something they need in order to accomplish their tasks here on Earth. I think the underground gambling establishment is run by a gang of bad guys who are probably members of the Red Force. "Lotto" is where we are introduced to a girl who is being held captive. And ultimately, I think what EXO are trying to do is rescue the girl from the Red Force, but they are trying to do it without blowing their cover or being found out. So, that's why you see in "Lotto," and continued in "Monster," the members are fighting against the police because the police have come in to take down the gambling ring and rescue the girl, which is also what EXO are trying to do. However, the members of EXO don't want to be discovered, so they play along as if they are part of the bad guys. EXO are supposed to be going about their tasks here on Earth incognito, and humanity is never supposed to find out about EXO, so they are trying to keep a low profile. As we see in the end of "Monster," Baekhyun disguises himself as one of the police and helps the other members escape from the back of the police van before they are taken to jail and/or captured by the Red Force, etc. (However, if you look closely, the members who are in the back of the police van are dressed in red, so the ones who Baekhyun rescued may be X-EXO -- EXO's alter ego clones -- and not EXO like we originally thought. Although I'm not sure whether at this point Baekhyun realizes these aren't the EXO members. Or maybe Baekhyun is also a member of X-EXO. Just another giant mystery we have yet to solve.) You also see Lay, EXO's Chinese member, crouched in the middle of what looks like a pile of people -- I'm not sure whether these are the FBI agents, or if these are members of the Red Force -- and I think he is checking to make sure they are OK and possibly trying to use his power of healing to fix things and heal the injured. Because some theories believe that EXO are traveling between time periods and dimensions, I think in "Monster" they also might be showing how some of the members are arriving on scene at different moments in the timeline of events that are taking place in the MV -- the members don't necessarily arrive at the location together -- as explained in their Pathcode teaser videos leading up to their "Call Me Baby" comeback. For instance, in "Monster" you also see Kai standing on or near a giant pile of people as well, and he seems to be standing over them. Some have pointed to this as possibly showing evil X-EXO Kai -- Kai's alter ego clone that was created by the Red Forced and introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV -- who has done something bad, but I think this may be showing good EXO Kai, who has just shown up at that moment, observing what has taken place. Because Kai has the power of teleportation he is the one that is in charge of bringing the members together and traveling between time and space, so I think he has shown up from a different time or place and is now trying to figure out what has happened, etc. In EXO's "Obsession" MV the members in the bright colored clothing with the crazy makeup and hair are supposed to be X-EXO and the ones in the black or dark colored clothing are supposed to be EXO. So, in the parts where they are dressed in all black in "Monster" I think this is showing EXO, and where you see them in the clothing with red accents, this might by showing X-EXO. At the time when "Monster" was first released, we had no idea about X-EXO's existence, but since "Obsession" -- which is one of EXO's most recent releases -- we have started to go back and reanalyze some of their older MVs, and it appears that what we thought was always EXO, may have been in fact X-EXO some of the time. As you can see, EXO's story is always evolving and changing, and just when you think you have one part understood, SM introduces a new piece of the story and changes the direction of the narrative. Also pay attention to when you see red and blue. In EXO's MVs when you see red light or red objects this is where the Red Force has control, and when you see blue light or blue objects this is where EXO has the upperhand. However, if you see purple or red and blue in the same scene this is when EXO and the Red Force are battling for control -- red and blue mixed together make purple. Unfortunately, as you can see, what makes EXO's storyline even more difficult to follow is the fact that nothing is ever in chronological order. So you really have to pay close attention to every detail, to even begin to make connections.

EXO KINGS AND LEGENDS OF K-POP FOREVER ETERNA-A FACT THAT HAS NO LONGER NEEDS ANYONE'S APPROVAL. POPULARITY AND LEGNDARITY ARE DIFFERENT CONCEPTS. Popularity is there today, tomorrow it is gone, and LEGENDARITY IS WITH YOU FOREVER. EXO songs released in 2012 in their debut album are relevant to this day. EVERY EXO ALBUM IS A VISION OF ART THAT YOU CAN LISTEN TO ENDLESSLY. EXO MUSIC IS TIMELESS. EXO ARE RELEVANT EVEN AFTER 10 YEARS OF CAREER.

Between all of EXO’s content, subunits, and solos, EXO is the best rabbit hole ever. The Vocal Kings do not disappoint! They’re dialed in hard to the 90’s R&B, with many Western producers. I recommend a couple of EXO songs produced by Teddy Riley: What is Love (pre-debut), and Call Me Baby (which has all 12 members). They are also known for having the most R&B sound and hiring some of the top American/European Pop/R&B/HipHop producers for a lot of their artists songs. The most well known US producer is Dem Jointz. Dwayne Allen Abernathy Jr - Compton CA. He is a producer, songwriter and a singer. He has produced songs/albums for SM artists EXO, Shinee, NCT as a whole and the three sub-units (NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream). He also produced RUN BTS for BTS. He is a well known, and respected music producer in the US music industry. He has produced for Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar and more. Dem Jointz can be recognized by his "Incoming!" producer tag in the beginning of the songs he has produced, and also "and now the breakdown" at the breakdown of a song. LOL I recommend looking up his discography. There is a decent (not complete) one on Wikipedia so you can see which EXO songs he has produced or co-produced. I recommend reacting to Obsession.
