Many Thanks. Roy Masters and his teachings including especially meditation have been the greatest help in every aspect of my life. I am so happy to hear read your text post about your gratitude very similar to mine. I used to meditate every morning very early with his guided meditation. I suddenly realized through Roy Masters teachings and meditation many new "original" blessings including his meditation taught me another original realization that no human can have any hate toward and other human, dislike and wanting to help but never rational ongoing hate it impossible to be accurate. Only Creator God and maybe His Son Jesus. Only God can know these three things about any human accurately. First what their intentions are, what their thoughts are, and all the things they have been through. God is Great Perfect Awesome Eternal Awesome. Roy Masters great teaching meditation gives the greatest JOY, bliss, creativity, original new helpful ideas in every aspect of life, and how to turn negative into positive to use the bad to profit the good, to see two or more sides to every issue to everything. Now doctors and scientists are proving how meditation can cure all problems and it can be explained by science worldwide so is being taught by public schools and other social help establishments and teachings worldwide. Thank You for Your Blessing of Choosing to Love God, Truth, and vital work of Roy Masters teachings.

As a teenager, I would lie in bed at night listening to the radio before falling asleep. One night, I turned the dial and heard a man's voice.... pleasant & soothing; with an accent foreign to the Midwest where I grew up. I was captivated & continued listening to the end of the broadcast. Come to find out it was a man named Roy Masters; who had just developed a new and unusual method of healing psychological/emotional wounds. Back then; he had a regularly broadcast radio program which I often tuned in to. He counseled people who called in describing their problems; and instructed them on how to overcome them. I didn't always understand what he was saying but listening to his kind and gentle voice helped me fall asleep. I ordered his cassette tapes (Yes, this was waay back!) and tried his chair method of "Be still and Know" but as a young person processing years of trauma; was unable to stick to it long enough to get results. Last week my daughter came to me with this video and said; "Mom, you've got to listen to this meditation! It's very powerful and effective!" Huh?! Amazing! I had forgotten all about him and didn't know his videos were on KZfaq...

Roy Masters saved my life. I wish I had known him when I was VERY young however I found him when I was in my twenties. I strongly believe God led me to him because it was very unusual how I came to find him. He awakened the Spirit inside of me and from then on I could never fall asleep again. I often wished I could have had a father like him... How different my life could have been. Rest in peace Mr Masters... you were much loved! 😥🙏🙏💔

Roy Masters is on to something. The meditation doesn't do anything but it gives you the strength to starve your dark side. Starve the dark side and it dies and your good side is all that remains.

rafael55 you are so right about this mind training exercise. In the early 80's I found myself stuck in a negative life situation and a friend took me to one of his meetings in LA. Something about the meditation exercise resonated with me so I purchased the tape and practiced at home for about a month and it changed my life. I had more control over my emotions. No more reacting. I gained an insight into other peoples motives for their behavior and felt instant compasion (here let me help you). This was shocking to people who knew me as well as to me. I still have the cassette tape but was hoping I could find it on youtube for convenience. Powerful!

There are many forms of meditation that can be very helpful. Everyone is different and I have found that TM works much better for me. It’s a time-honored method that dates back centuries to the early Asian cultures. It also requires much less effort that this technique.

To: Bethykable- you unfortunately have not understood the Roy Masters meditation. It's just the opposite of what you said. "Be still and know." Doesn't require any effort at all. You need to let go and let God take over, without any effort. Roy said it many times that the trick, if i may use this word. The right way to do the meditation is without using any effort. Don't let the devil trick you. OK. No effort, just sit and listen to the CD for a while and than do it by yourself. God bless you.

I can say sincerely, that this meditation has not done any good for me, after thirty-six years of meditation morning and night, twice daily, but I love and have always loved Roy Masters and have really appreciated his wisdom and insight since I first started listening to him in 1985. Other thousands people who have listened to him have really become better and happier people and I am really happy for them. I believe this meditation may have been responsible for this improvement as these people are not deluded or kidding themselves. Bad habits, anger and frustration have not been eliminated from my life ,but this works for some people and not others, so not everyone should expect to get better. In fact, some people have noticed positive changes after just a week or two of this, and others it can take years before life becomes better. I hope that this meditation will do you good, so go forth and try it. It won't harm you but do not expect anything.

Although I have been meditating for decades (different kind of meditation), today I tried this particular exercise for the first time, and I am a little confused. First, I think have never been able to create true mental images. Whenever I imagine something I do not actually see it, I just "feel' it occupying the space in front of me. I thought it is normal for everybody, but perhaps I just have aphantasia... Second, during the ecercise, I was able to stay present and sense my hand very well, but unlike the attempted mental image, it did not physically move at all. I suppose it is no problem and there are no "shoulds". Can anybody comment on this, please?
@PEPEdela1103 ай бұрын
Your hand it’s not supposed to physically move in this exercise. Your mind is supposed to “register” the moment as if you’re actually moving it, bringing it close to your forehead. I think it’s supposed to train us to remain in a present (aware) state so as to not get all caught up in random thoughts that drive our emotions. At least that’s what I get from this video. I believe Roy Masters’ method of meditation is the foundation for Jesse Lee Peterson’s Silent Prayer. He mentions Masters (in passing only) in his book From Rage to Responsibility.

I've been doing this meditation for 34 years, since the days of Radio Caroline. I can't say anything good or bad about it. I don't expect anything from it and don't try to make anything happen. And nothing happens. I'm patient with everyone and don't respond to outside pressure or criticism. But I'm not happy with my life and I'm going blind. Never mind. I keep doing it anyway, even though it does nothing. I still believe that God will help me if He wants to. One day. Some day. It's not up to me. God has the strength to heal me, and not the meditation or myself. So why do I still do it, you may ask, if it does nothing for me? Well, I want to do it because it's my way of praying to God without talking to Him. He knows what I need and has the power to heal. Do I resent God for this situation? No. But I wish He'd bloody well hurry up. Before it's too late
