In this film I meet up with Shane ‪@Fishingdorsetlive‬ with hopes of an early flounder but knowing the "checkers" would be a problem. Armed with my new ‪@anyfishanywhere‬ Match Pro's and the Penn fathom II 12 SD's I have the comfort of fishing direct from the side door of the fishing wagon. Hot brews on tap and somewhere out of the wind always makes thing that little more luxurious. Ragworm is the bait of the day and I have 1lb of "large" worms, smaller would have been better but this is what I have.
The rigs on the day were the 3 hook flapper, loop rig and a sprung paternoster that I am experimenting with.
The clothing i wear in this film is my favourite in comparison to anything else i have tried/worn and is available from…

Hi mark you ok pal, well done mate. Your new set up looks spot on. Your right about the driving, i find when is freezing and the old heaters kick in on the van, thats when it gets me. I was out yesterday and managed 5 whiting and a dab on the humber. All the best from GRIMSBY.

Hi Carl, I’m really pleased people are commenting and discussing the “tired when sleeping” aspect as if nothing else it makes us all think twice. The car/van heaters really make things difficult when tired especially when trying to keep the windscreen clear. When I searched out my van it took some time but I found one with heated seats and screen. I can leave the heater off but have a clear screen and a warm body. It was worth taking the time to find it. I’d love to fish Grimsby one day and it sounds like you are getting amongst a few fish, well done. 🎣👍🏻

Very wise words regarding not driving tired. As you say, you come off the beach and think you're fine only to start driving and your eyes start to roll. Done it myself , only saved by the rumble strip on the motorway waking me up. As an ex carp fisherman the first thing I did was put my old fishing bed in my van and it's definitely saved my life I'd say. Good video.

Thank you for the confirmation Scott, I think we have all experienced that sudden abrupt realisation that we lost it for a split second. Very scary and one to avoid at all costs. The bed I bought is a bit special and I tip my hat to the carp fishers for developing something so well. 😉

It is a view I’m sure will be had by more than just one so worth explaining. The channel started as a personal diary of my fishing to be able to look back on but it soon became apparent that the interaction helped me develop. I enjoy trying new kit and tackle and the feedback that I get from supporters has helped me improve my fishing. The transition between rods over the past 3 years has been progressive, it would have been all too easy to go top of the range right at the start and throw money at it. I didn’t do that and hopefully that has helped others. There is also the added interest and variety to what I present on film, I could just put up a photo of what was caught and leave it at that, where’s the fun in that?

If I’m honest I am smitten with the van and I’ve had it 2 years now which has flown by. It has had all of the usual Transit custom flaws including the ridiculous disc and pad change, lower suspension arms and the early signs of needing power steering hoses. These are very common and to be expected. Other than that it is a joy to drive and own. Take care. 🎣👍🏻

All your shows are great. I just purchased a Penn Fathom 2 12sd. What would be a great show would be reel maintenance, especially new reels or your regular maintenance. Yes there are a few vids out there but they all do the bearing oiling sligby differently. VMO 1 drop per bearing others 4 drops etc. Would be interested to see or know what you do. Cheers

Thanks for watching and really pleasing you are enjoying the channel. Personally I’m very fussy with how I look after my kit and make no secret of my cleaning/preservation routines. Everything gets washed/wiped and sprayed with FS365 regardless. My multipliers have their line stripped to backing and the periodicity depends on use/location. Chesil is hard on line so I do that after every session, the Solent is kinder so every other or every third visit. My backing ends at the first spool marker and the rest is the other 2. I follow a routine very close to the VMO Dean Booker 1 with removing bearing shields and 1 drop of oil. My regular maintenance/clean only involves removing the mag end with the gear end done every few months depending on usage. I hope that helps. 🎣
@nigelh681
@nigelh681 8 ай бұрын
@@seaangling thanks for that. Yes really helps. I am more reassured about touching the bearings now. Also good to know about the backing. Out of interest do you use old mono for backing. I have seen some suggest using braid for backing. Thanks again.

I use to shoot a lot and held a firearms licence but I gave that up some years ago. Most land where I live slowly went over to syndicates and my favourite was bought out by an adjacent golf course. I did shoot competitively for the Navy and qualified as a marksman.

Those are great rods. I’ve got quite a few Anyfish Anywhere rods. I’ve even got some of their prototype rods that Jules sold me. I don’t really take them out too often though, they have far too much sentimental value to me and can’t be replaced. I use their Estuary rods in most of Poole Harbour, usually with 2oz or 3oz leads. Their new rod holdall is good too, proper bit of kit that is.
@seaangling
@seaangling 9 ай бұрын
I’m interested in the hold-all but I can’t really fault the one I already have so I will wait a while before indulging. As with everything else it would be nice to get one and report back an honest review.
