Hounds on rag!! Wow I've had hounds on squid and crab obviously and blacks but never on rag well done you

Cracking session Mark, conditions looked really still and the mighty rag come through with no fancy cocktails required! Congratulations on the shore PB too, gives us all some hope of big fish from the shore.
@seaanglingАй бұрын
It doesn’t have to be fancy but it does take more than one visit sometimes. I’ll be doing another hound video soon right back to basics and using hard back crab which is possibly one of the easiest baits to collect. 🦈🎣👍🏻

Cheers Rick, nice to hear from you. The Solent does seem to hold a good population of hounds that are of a decent size. The British shore record came from the Meon area. I must admit that lighting was an issue on this session which I am trying to sort out. Take care. 🦈🎣👍🏻

For clean ground I prefer the fathom SD 12’s and I’ve gone down in line diameter to ASSO ultra-cast 14lb. When I do use the CS’s I have them loaded up with 20lb mainline but not as often. I did take them to Norway where they worked really well.

Hi Mark, Nice fish, well done.. Which mark mate? I fished Hill Head last Wednesday, 2 x doubles 12 & 13 ib, in 3 hours, on spider peelers, best nights fishing of my life !
@seaanglingАй бұрын
Hill head and Meon are fishing well, Hamble less so. Spider peeler is a killer bait as they are inshore and moulting atm. This session was Park Shore as Meon was packed wall to wall with anglers. I believe there was an 18lb caught recently in the area. 😉

Just invested in a few packs of these, the aero pulleys, termalinks and the kicker bait clips rather than the roto ones. Quite often use pulley rigs myself too, although when i get around to tying them i think I'll still be using beads either side of the slider👍

The much belied sand eel strikes gold Mark, an overlooked bait and well deserved haul for you. Also the rarer cold northerly in April also a factor keeping the swell down for a change of wind cross tide Congrats on another top video
@seaangling3 ай бұрын
I think the sand eel is overlooked by some but they are an amazing bait over sand or light shingle. I have had some amazing results off the boat with them as well. Cheap and easy to store/carry but their numbers are in decline and they are not always easy to get good ones. I’ve been told there are huge ships out there harvesting them in massive numbers. 🤷♂️
