A quick view of what it takes to mount a beadlock wheel. In this install I'm mounting up a Method Race Wheel MR101 15" on the new 35" General Grabber X3. They mounted up perfectly and look great!
I'd personally like to thank Method Race Wheels, Maverick Powder Coating in Anaheim, and General Tires for such great products and service.

I have the Method 105 beadlocks with 37” BFG KM3 and they are TOUGH to get on and off. They have a super strong side wall. Great tires and definitely recommend them.

Thanks for the detailed vid. My 105s just arrived and I’m going to mount my 38” Pats. Would you recommend I get the ring spacers or no? Also, does it make difference if my tires were previously mounted on regular rims? About 7-8k miles on them right now.
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude 4 жыл бұрын
The tires haven't previously been mounted should not make a difference. Running the Beadlock Ring Spacer kits would be highly recommended. Should help a lot with the mounting process. The rings deflect causing unwanted stress on the bolt heads. Give us a call if you have any more questions. 866.779.8604

Hey man! Getting ready to order 5 method beadlocks for my Chevy 6.2 prerunner build. Going to have maverick powder coat them as well. Unless I go with the 105s. Can't decide on 105s or 101 or 102s. Anyways, my question is, after you mount all your tires yourself how do you go about balancing them? I was thinking I could maybe just get them all mounted and run them to a tire shop to put them on a dynamic balancer????? I'll be running either 37 Toyo RTs or 37 Baja ta bfgs.

Hey man thanks for watching. You have two of the three options for wheels you suggested. You can go with either the MR101 or the MR105. The MR102 isn't offered in your bolt pattern and unable for custom drill. The best wheel would be our MR101 but it is about 25% more per wheel. I have ran both now and for an average prerunner they are both awesome products. As far as balancing goes it's just like a regular wheel although when you go off-roading it and if you do a huge jump, hit a sharp edge, chunk the tires you'll probably have the set go off balance again. The best option for a non-daily driver would be tire beads because they self balance. I personally haven't balanced any beadlock wheels. It's always a ruff shitty ride on the street in my truck haha.

+They call me Wally hey thanks man! Alright I think I'm deciding between the 105 or 101s. Could you explain why the 101s might be better? I like the look of them better. But I like that the 105s are cheaper and already powder coated and in my bolt pattern. I also like that they come in 3.5" BS so they'd stick out an extra inch I believe from the 101s. I'm confused though online it says 102 don't come in my bolt pattern but I just got a 2017 method catalogue, little square one, and it shows the MR102 comes in a 6x 5.5". Is that a typo? Any chance you could Message me on Instagram? I talked to Steve a while back but still can't decide which ones to go with? My Instagram is @CaptainBeard714 appreciate it!

I'm super happy with them. My buddy and I actually raced on these same tires at the NORRA 1000 in his class 1 buggy. Had zero issues 600 miles in. So far I've also had no issues on these tires with ranger.

Something i always wondered, there's no chance of loosing a bead on the back?
@downnoutdubin
@downnoutdubin 3 жыл бұрын
You could, but you wont spin the bead. It'll be easily filled up and reset on the trail.
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude Жыл бұрын
It's not typical because most of the load is placed on the outer of the vehicle. As in the inside bead typically takes the least force.

What PSI do you run when you are out there having fun on the trail?
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude 6 жыл бұрын
If I'm just out for a cruise its at 20psi. If i'm driver hard or if I were to race it I would be at a min 25 but recommend 30 if your motor can move it through the soft stuff.

Thanks!. Video Idea: you can make a video going about every detail on your truck, or even better a series of videos showcasing different areas of the setups e.g. Suspension, Engine/Drivetrain, Wheels/Tires, etc
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude 6 жыл бұрын
Sure. Not sure what that will be though. I've got a bronco build that I'll probably end up having a lot of how-to's on. But yeah I'll go over the truck and the components at some point. I'd like to do it in a shop setting so I can half of the truck taken apart and half of the truck together.

Do you have to balance them?
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude 5 жыл бұрын
I personally do not. Mainly because I'm lazy and just eager to get them on the truck but also because the truck mostly see's dirt and therefore a balanced tire doesn't do a whole lot after the lugs have been all chunked up.

can you order them or customize them with different paint colors?
@TheycallmeWallyDude
@TheycallmeWallyDude 7 жыл бұрын
Kind of... If you order our race wheels you can but I always suggest that you deal directly with the powder coating company to get the exact finish you want. I went in there looking for a bronze finish and came out with gold... I liked the color better in person and he said he was going to use a clear coat that had better UV protection because the truck would spend some time in the sun. If you ordered them through us (Method), YOU would supply us with a paint code and we would just give that code to the painter. If you don't like the finish then too bad, you gave us the code. haha. Again I feel that with paint its best to deal one on one. These wheels are offered in a raw finish and therefore easy to get the painted quickly.
