Awesome! I always wondered about bean pastas since it's an easy way to consume more legumes. I think a good control for health effects should be regular pasta as well as whole cooked beans. Before that we can't say much sadly :-( good to see that videos that focus on food again. Sometimes I think this channel goes too much off-topic

Tried black been pasta. I wasn't sure how long to boil it so after 5 minutes I stayed at the stove tested often. It went from raw to sticking to my teeth in seconds. I know your videos aren't normally concerned with things like ' al dente' but if you can't eat it it's not very nutritious.

EdLena I’ve tried many bean pastas and my favorite is chickpea pasta. Not sticky at all. Make sure to cook it in a lot of water and add it to your sauce immediately after you’ve drained the pasta.

buckwheat: sprout one to three days, microwave 2,5 minutes. while chewing them raw is entertaining at first, our instinct appreciates things that are easier to chew, long term. i assume proteins are not fully denatured after just 2.5 minutes of microwaving. lentils are even tougher and require over 3 minutes of microwaving to become a bit tender.

what do you talk about? we have all kinds of deficiencies. in my records, 40g of plant based protein correlates with 60% of zinc RDA, but 70g of plant based protein correlates with 100% of zinc RDA. zinc deficiency means weak immune system (herpes, flue, ulcers, etc) and weak homone production (possibly hair loss, less sex drive). to get 70g of protein, i need to add buckwheat and lentil sprouts to my fuits and veggie diet. even though they cause farting.

Wait, what? One stores the sprouts cold, in the fridge, to stop the sprouting. They have most nutrition after 2-3 days of sprouting.

Dr Greger, looking at buckwheat I see that Bob's Red Mill organic lists dietary fiber at 1 gram and total carbohydrate of 30 gram. Is this an unhealthy grain as having such a low carb to fiber ratio?

since asian instant noodles have been shown to create inflammation within the gut lining, i would be curious to know if bean pastas do the same. may inflammation somehow promote the oxidation of cholesterol? or at least artery contraction.

It's a well known tactic to squish the axis down to show a much more dramatic trend than is real. It's not done by much here but Michael has spoken about this in the past as something to watch out for. I would have thought he would follow his own advice.

"Watch out for this" is a caution to the reader, not a rule for the author! Scales that don't start at zero are super normal. There's nothing wrong with them as long as the axes are appropriately labelled and we take care to read them correctly.
