Bear Spray is NOT a toy!! (Counter Assault Bear Deterrent)

This bear spray is extremely potent and noxious - it lingered in the desert air for many minutes after this recording causing us to cough with one person becoming nauseous. This is NOT a toy and should NOT be used on humans!!
This particular can had already been discharged half way prior to making the video so it is my belief that you should only carry a fully charged canister in case of a bear attack. As such, I decided to make this recording of the last half of the cannister being discharged.
From the manufacturer's website I found this; "Counter Assault Bear Deterrent pepper spray was developed, in conjunction with the University Montana, as a means to protect people from bears in a non-lethal manner. In the early 1980s, Dr. Charles Jonkel and Carrie Hunt of the University of Montana Border Grizzly Project generated the scientific data that proved Counter Assault’s proprietary formula and delivery system successfully deterred bears from aggressive encounters in a non-lethal manner."

I tested it out once my I sprayed 0.5 second it went right at me at least not in my eyes in my throat only not other places

@@exabys but how do you know. The jumbo cans go for 92.99$ plus tax. I found some for 49.99$ also and this specific can is 70.99$ plus tax.

The White Mountains of NH, where I hike, doesn't have a serious bear problem, although there have been a few attacks over the years. They're generally pretty shy, although there have been a few of what I call "dumpster bears" reported. As a solo hiker, I carry a can of spray- same brand as yours- but in all my time in the mountains, I've only seen 3 bears, and that was their butt ends as they were running away. When I first got the spray, I test-fired it in my backyard. I was upwind, but a little bit got back to me anyway. Instantly blinded and couldn't breathe for a few moments. But there are those people out there who will say a firearm is more effective, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.

Damn that sucks I’m getting a can just in case but def not test firing and only in a life or death charge I’d use it against a black bear but I’d like to have that added safety of a last resort if they are hunger charging me for my lovely scent
