Just beautiful Bear. Beautiful. Desired a ceramic watch for a while, finally purchasing an IWC Mark XVIII Laureus Edition last year. As with you I can, and do, stare at it long and often. The finish is outstanding, subtlety changing colors and hues in differing light. Black, dark silver, charcoal, gun metal gray, spectacular. Huge fan of it and also your new Omega, wear it in the absolute best of health Bear!!! Ciao.

The handset and the way it contrasts against the dial is what is beautiful about this watch. It's a unique piece and has that timeless Speedmaster design. Even though it's not a wind up I actually prefer this movement in a modern Chrono timepiece. In my view, technically a superior watch to the much-vaunted Daytona especially if you set aside the Rolex wank factor. Something that I'm also a victim of. All the best my friend and What a collection you have!!

Great review! I bought one of these a few months ago and it's almost never left my wrist. One minor correction though: the watch is 16.50mm thick, not 13.25mm. Still wears great imo.

I will have to file that under "Watches I would like to own in the future". I had a Seamaster 300M chronograph, but I love the Speedmaster. I got the Bulova Lunar Pilot as a more affordable Moon Watch, but this might be a worthy addition in the future, unless I somehow set aside enough money for a SeaDweller or Submariner. ;)

Congratulations on the Watch Bear and the nice review. I like the description of your journey in choosing the watch. I would hope that in this new year period, people would stop looking down at watches they don't understand, don't know enough about, or are not pushed into because of hype and start opening their horizons a bit. Too many people just outright dismiss great watches as sh--ters. Too many people are stuck in a state of arrested development in their horology journey.

Is the saphire back domed and pressed instead of screwed? It gives a much better view to the movement than other saphire backs, even from omega. Beautiful watch!

Love this watch, picked mine up yesterday from my AD at $9k plus tax. Great video as well, though I have to say, i've never seen someone wear a watch with the strap sitting on the hand side of the ulna... doesn't that make it uncomfortable to wear if your wrist flexes back at all? I can't even imagine wearing my watch like that. I'm curious if two years later, you still have love for this watch, and does it see much wrist time?

Great watch! Did you buy from an Omega Boutique or authorized dealer? If yes, did it come with 2 or 3 red cards/certificates? Some Omega's come with just the international warranty & Pictogram while others also come with a Chronometer certificate if it applies (COSC or METAS). I was just curious.

What are your thoughts on this watch now that some time has past ?

Why no deployant clasp? Especially if it’s a ceramic watch? Safety would be a concern?
