Before you try the solution from the video, you should reset the puzzle. It doesn't reset if you cancel/re-start the puzzle. The puzzle should be reset after a death (for example, jump off a cliff).

That was unnecessarily hard. Poor kids without internet. I'd cry if I was little.

I took some kind of math-adjacent class in college that was all about solving visual problems just like this and this part gave me flashbacks to me feeling like the biggest dumbass in the world for not having any idea how to solve them

This was the first time I’ve ever been frustrated as all shit from a Sonic the Hedgehog game in my entire life. Minus Sonic 2006 or just getting stuck with insta deaths in the original games. This was the first puzzle rather that had me insanely “over it”. Like, ready to rage quit. I told myself “I’ll fire it up tomorrow…..and KZfaq how to do this shit” 🤣 cause I was ready to move on to something else.

Thst would been a lot less confusing had the pillars moved independently. Them moving together is what makes it super convoluted

I have beaten this game twice on hard: first time at max level and second time at Level 1. Both times I got stuck and had to look up the answer to this puzzle. I am here today on Extreme mode, and for the first time, I did the puzzle without using this guide! Thank you for helping me get past the true hardest challenge of Sonic Frontiers and giving me the confidence to finally do this one all by myself.

Couldn't figure out why this game didn't get nominated for any awards whatsoever, but this poorly thought out, awfully executed and needlessly convoluted mess of a puzzle definitely explains a lot. Thank you so much for this, I'd have never figured out how to do it otherwise.

Oh my God you're a life saver. I've just spent at least an hour trying to figure this out. I nearly had it but I obviously went wrong with one of the beams. Easily one of the most confusing puzzles I've encountered in a game in quite some time.

Even after watching this I’d have no idea of reverse engineering it. Like I get had to get the one path of light to go full route but I can’t figure out how the mechanisms worked

I looked at the comments immediately. I'm glad it wasn't just me being an idiot. I was getting audibly mad. The pillers moving together is a cool interesting concept making for a fun puzzle, HOWfuckingEVER, the fact that they can be very easily dysynced by slightly moving the pillers for half a second at a time, makes the difficulty of this puzzle go from an 8/10, to a 100/10!
