I entirely agree with your outlook with tribal. It really lets you see how the mechanics in the game interact; it's great way to learn!

@@BearlyTactical So far, it has been Austr Agdir with the vikings. Actually have used the start 3 times to learn the game because I noticed you have everything at your disposal. Easier water access for long travels to raid, religion, and even diplomacy. I really like how it forces you to start out small, and though it's really hard to get to the top (creating OWN kingdom or religion and progressing it), it taught me sooo much about the game and I felt like I was involved in the game around me rather starting out as fuedal (which isn't as openly engaged I felt in the map and its immediate changes of course). In other words, I felt like I was still making a large impact even after you would die and watch your kingdom crumble haha.

Clans, as the name suggests, would be appropriate to place in Scotland and Ireland. Though I'm not sure if the system they called "clan" and placed in the Muslim regions has anything in common with what the clans are supposed to be in the Celtic cultures. The same, however, can be said about feudalism in Europe in India - should be quite different systems.

Do you know how one can raid with a clan or feudal bases government without practiced piracy ?

As far as I know that is the only way of doing it, if there was a way of going feudal without having a reformed religion then you could try that way. But I'm pretty certain that's not possible

I would actually throw a counter arguement to your claims here! I would say that, starting as tribal as newbie is a giant trap for you because eventually you have to roll over to feudal and if you are not prepared for it and/or dont know whats going to happen once you transfer to feudal, your mighty tribal empire will crumble quite rapidly! I would rather suggest you to pick a safe place as a vassal under some powerful feudal ruler and learn how the feudal system works. Gets you going much faster than tribal when you think you are on top of the world and then all of a sudden its game over! That being said, most powerful gvmnt type is tribal if you start at earlyest point possible. You can amass enormous ammount of wealth and power and if you do everything correctly, you will emerge as extremely powerful feudal ruler once the tribal era ends. Problem for newbies is that, they discover they are worth absolutely jack sh*t once feudalism rolls in! Been in that boat myself when i first started!

You need casus belli to declare war. Tribal my reason I want your land.

It makes war so much easier! Also avoids the risk of declaring a holy war, potentially allowing your enemies extra allies

How can you start at the years 476? In your Cultur-Tree you yan see the number. I thought the earliest possible was something with 800.

I think either that is for future expansion, or it is just the date that they thought best correlated with the start of that era. No correlation to actual start dates
