It's beautiful...like a dream. To wake up and see that gorgeous land and trees outside your window would be wonderful.

One can imagine how lovely this house once was. And where it is located is absolutely breathtaking. Like you, I love the view from that kitchen window and could spend hours glued to that one spot.

It was fun to see the old logo from Montgomery Ward on the “Signature” chest freezer. Had a part-time job there in high school in the 70’s. Rural folk used the Montgomery Ward catalog a lot to order things back in the day. Beautiful land around there, thanks Kappy!

What a lovely place this must have been when first built. Attention to detail that is shown in the detail of some of the door knobs and the “gingerbread” trim on the porch shows that somebody cared when house was built. I think I love pretty much everything about this place...the intricate moldings, the delicate features of the ceiling fixtures, the gorgeous staircase, the vintage articles left behind...could go on forever. When my husband and I first heard your voice, we looked at each other and said, that's Ryan talking. That's our son-in-law up in Indiana. But of course it wasn't him! It's was you! I called my daughter and told her to listen. She said when did you get Ryan talking and who is he talking too. Long story short! Ya'll are voice twins! I love what you do man! History is wonderful and exciting! We live in a log cabin. 1820 to 1840. My mother moved it to our property in 1973. This the 3rd place it's been since it was hand hune in the early 1820s. We must do all we can to preserve history. It's disappearing fast. When it's gone it wouldn't be coming back! Thank you for your hard work! Don't stop!

Such a Grand Old Lady...wouldn't You Love to know her memories...see everything she's seen. It Breaks my heart to watch your videos, but...I still watch. So Heartbreaking no one cares about these beautiful buildings any longer.

I look around me now, in my home and I have to wonder. Will someone be wondering about who used to live here? And what stories could be told? It is amazing for me to imagine that someone’s hand touched every single piece of wood that it took to build that home. It was someone’s dream. Look at it now.

Those metal beds are all the rage again now. My grandson has one very similar but it’s new. Loved that carved headboard. I remember those sinks with the soap dish on top. What a neat find. About 4 yrs ago, myself and a friend, found this house, there was just something special about it. I took a few still shots, and to this day, i still like it. When i saw the video, i immediately knew i had been there. Great video

This was an incredible video. I love old homes like this. I grew up in an 1826 home in Ohio that my family restored and left 90 percent original (had to upgrade windows and some of the foundation) but it had the original front door, door knobs and hinges, even had the creek stone foundation still intact in many places. Hand built arched door, 9 feet tall with red circular stained glass in the top of the arch. This reminded me so much of that house. Thank you so much for filming this and being so respectful to this piece of history. I live in Western North Carolina now and went thru Hugh school in Blue Ridge and this home is one of hundreds that are abandoned in this area of the same age and style. You got another subscriber with me and I can’t wait to see your new videos!

What a nice location! Can't beat the beautiful country around this house. So green and plush, with the sounds of nature. Nice old house too, albeit falling apart but it must have been a great place to call home back in the day! Can't beat these old farm houses!! Such sturdy places!!

I really, really like that house. Yes, it is old... those piled stone pillars and stripped log supports for the 1st floor just blow my mind. The place had a lot of thoughtful, personalized storage for organization. I bet this was a well loved family home with a view you would know like the back of your hand. ❤

I picture a short grannie, cooking for her family. Picture her burying deceased loved one who gre up in the house. Probably 4 or 5 kids. Pictured farm produce being shelled on the screened front porch which probably had a couple old rockers on it. So many good memories were made there.

I think a young man built this charming house for his young bride with love and added all the feminine touches to make her feel instantly at home! I’m sure they raised a lovely family in this house. What a peaceful and quiet area. The views are stunning and I would have sit on the second floor balcony and enjoyed those views and peace and quiet.

Viewer from Sweden here. Beautiful house and surroundings. Dreamlike. Images of the families and all life some 60 or 100 years ago come to my mind. But life is still there in the wonderful landscape and birds. I love to find places like that during roadtrips in Sweden (just different building styles). Sometimes the inhabitants left for "Amerika". Melancholy sets in but the sweet kind - life goes on. Would love to do roadtrips in the states. "country roads" playing.. ;)

Very large old house. A few dollars in scrap metal. The doors could be restored and make very beautiful additions in renoing. And that view! Fantastic! All in all I love the woodwork. And think this would make my top ten for saving.

Very smooth with camera, your voice is easy to listen to, you show appreciation and respect to someone's property! I'm all subscribed, and the bell will ring! Thanks so very much! BTW, my parents still live in the same farmhouse I grew up in(ages 90 & 91), married 69 years! And, my hubby & I are 4th generation in our farmhouse! We enjoy the woodwork, doors & door knobs, and all of the other "good old homey feel" of days gone by. Counting our blessings our descendants seem interested in becoming caretakers of these homes when we move on to our heavenly ones! Evidently the descendants in the case if this old home decided to invest in newer architecture. Sad!

The architecture of the home from the outside is so pretty. My aunt had a sink in her old kitchen like the one you found with the old faucets and soap dish. Beautiful carvings on the headboard, always love the porches, especially on the 2nd floor. Great old house!

The front door if you noticed someone took the original glass out and installed an actual window seal into and in place of the glass into that frame on the door in which that glass was missing now also but I havent seen that. maybe the glass broke and living so far out couldnt replace it easily so put an actual window sash in its place for good or thinking temporarily until they could replace it which that day did not dawn. Also off topic did you notice that chesnut (American chesnut which is extinct today as only Asian chesnut grows here now a blight killed it in 1920s. but American chesnut looked so much like oak. And there is the chesnut oak itself. A type of oak that looks a lot like it to so it could be oak, American chesnut or chesnut oak - there are a very few American chesnuts left here in Western NC but they do not live long and do not produce chesnuts or seeds like they are supposed to. Many early pioneers built log homes out of american chesnut as they were so big and grew so tall and straight) But the headboard from the top of steps notice the legs were missing....this was so common I have seen it dozens of times here as so many did this. As times progressed and stuff got old and out of style. Those high back beds folks would cut the headboard legs off and usually toss the headboard they cut off.. if you can imagine or burn it. And use the bottom of it as the new footboard and the old foot board which was average or tall as normal beds today as the new headboard as they were usually carved and pretty to. I have seen so many high back beds done this way in this area. And seeing the headboards today (that were originally the footboards) how gorgeous and carved they are usually with a scroll all the way across the top one can only imagine how gorgeous and detailed the original headboard they cut off was with an even large scroll atop it and ecanthas leaf carved moldings and detail.Those high back oak beds were not for wealthy folks back then they were average sears and rob. beds around 1900 sold for 2.75 cent and not the one in this house in video but much nicer ones than that. So there were so many of them around. And now around here they sell for 300 to 1000 bucks so imagine all those that were cut off and tossed or the ones that were completely thrown out or burned in yard or for heating. Crazy. Like us tossing out used furniture today of course of much much less quality , craftsmanship & material it isnt worth saving as thiings that were made then which were all of solid wood . Sorry to ramble I am detailed about history and teach it for a local college so easy to get trailed off on any history topic from beds, trees, to houses lol so if you read this, thanks for your time.

Farm houses didn't have closets because they didn't have a lot of clothes. They didn't have a lot of shoes either, going barefoot in the summer. Loved the headboard. The entire house is cool. Love it retains some original features.

You should scout around these homes outside. This time of year you may find spring flowering perennials. Give you an idea of how the outside, gardens and landscaping, was laid out. I've stumbled upon lilacs and daffodils literally in the middle of nowhere.

That house had some beautiful views. The one window in the kitchen, I’m like you. I could have stood or sit looking out that window for days. And the view looking out from the upper front porch was just as breathtaking. I can imagine that house restored with me living in it. Perfect peace and quiet. Thanks for sharing this house. 👍

This was a lovely old house. I hate seeing it abandoned. Those doorknobs and face plates were exquisite. There was great craftsmanship that went into making them. The stair case had a lovely sweep to it. The headboard was beautiful and looked like it was done by the hand of an artist. The tv looked like a 60's model. Such a beautiful piece of land, but it's cold in the winter. I can't deal with that anymore.

That beautiful view! Imagine waking up every morning to that. Soap dishes on top of faucets used to be very common. Would love to have that sink. It's funny....some old houses leave me feeling sad or even creeped out a little......this one, even though it was obviously used for storage after the family was gone, gave off kind of happy, content vibes. Probably very loving, happy people once lived there. Thank you for an interesting explore!

Such wonderful wood work in this home. Looked to me someone was working on this at one time . In my opinion it would take alot of money but it would be worth it ! Oh man, I was picturing each room as it would have been, except with my stuff in it. That was fun. It’s like in my head I know the lady of the house or something. I love her pantry. Haha. When you first went in , I immediately thought “ok, the parlor is on the left” the. I wondered why I always assume the parlor was on the left. Then I remembered that as a kid, the only person I knew who lived in a house that old had her parlor on the left. It was like a 1 & 1/2 story house. And the stairs were hidden in the kitchen or close to it....I’m really stretching back into my memory here. My mama always said that was the rich side of the family, meaning they had a parlor and running water in the 1940’s. My mama grew up with an outhouse so it was like the 1950’s. That cousin was actually my grandmother’s first cousin and that house sat over the train tracks in Jasper Ga and was built sometime in the late 1800’s...maybe even turn of the last century. There was once a train wreck and they brought the wounded and the dead to their front two rooms. It was like most houses back then, it had that center hallway. Of course my crazy aunt always swore that the parlor was haunted by the dead from that train wreck so I was scared to go in the parlor. It’s still standing and in good shape. Someone else owns it and I haven’t been there in probably 30 years. I’d have been about 12 or 13 then. The faucet on that farmhouse sink (that would be worth so much now) was awesome! The sink on my Grandpaw’s back porch aka what they built on when they added a bathroom in the early 60’s....ish. Anyway, it had a faucet just like that till the day they tore it down 😢. I would have loved to have had that sink. Keep doing what you do, I love it!

I have a house I found like that in Maine. 19 years later it’s lovely and still almost totally original. Except I put plumbing in for the first time. It’s not for everyone but I love an old house!
