The season was coming to an end and it was almost time to head south for warmer weather. But first, we wanted to climb a 14er and chose Mt Shavano since it fit well with our route. And we were very pleasantly surprised to find the nearby dispersed camping on the forest road leading to the trailhead. The camp spots are varied - open or among the junipers - and were quite spacious. But best of all was the incredible scenery all around! We had a wonderful time camping and exploring around Mt Shavano Wildlife Area. Stay tuned for the full video of our hike to the top of Mt Shavano!
