Beautiful MAI CHAU VALLEY, VIETNAM (Better than Sapa?)

Mai Chau Valley is one of Vietnam’s hidden gems. Most tourists head to Sapa to see the beauty of the Vietnamese Countryside, but Mai Chau is actually 3 hours closer to Hanoi. So I wanted to see which one better: Mai Chau or Sapa?
You can experience Mai Chau Hoa Binh in a day trip, but we spent 2 days cycling around the rice fields and beautiful scenery.
EVERYTHING FEATURED IN THIS FILM:
0:35 - Hanoi to Mai Chau Bus
Some views from the window of the 3 hour journey though the mountains.
0:56 - First Impressions of Mai Chau in the rain
Walking around the rice fields for the first time and a little background on the Ban Lac people of the region.
2:00 - Secret Viewpoint over Rice Fields
We found this awesome spot by chance, climbing over a very broken bamboo bridge. You can find it on the same road as the Mai Chau Nature Lodge Hotel.
3:14 - Best Time to visit Mai Chau: The Harvest Time
A very specific moment in the seasons where you get the best of everything.
4:06 - Cycling Around Mai Chau
One of the best ways to see the valley is by bicycle.
5:20 - Chieu Cave
One of the best caves in Mai Chau, at the end of a 1000 stair climb.

Mai Chau does look stunning! way to give er over the bamboo bridge and into the cave...those are the best adventures. When we hit Sapa, Ba Cha was a scene from National Geographic..stunning!!! But I'm sure that has all changed now...glad you found a little spot where you can dive into a huge cave and have it to yourself. Keep rocking the gems...and hope you are having an awesome summer.

How do you find such off-the-beaten-track destinations? I almost think the clouds add something special to the scenery. Loving that bamboo bridge. I'd be keen to explore what was at the other end too. The road less-travelled takes you to the best things ;) Watching the harvest take place looks so magical! Oh man those tourist golf-buggies going to the Instagram spots 🙈 Looks like a different place to the day before! Do you record your own sound effects to overlay on your footage? Okay, I have to say, this has been perhaps THE BEST travel vlog I've seen. Seriously! You are extremely relaxed, real and natural in how you present. Your production is very cinematic but not over done in anyway. I actually found myself being taken away by the story and place rather than noticing an attempt at being cinematic, or trying to impress with overly succulent shots, etc. I felt that you actually made this video for the viewer, rather than trying to show the viewer how lucky you are to be there. It comes does come across! I've never been one to "vlog", I feel a bit shy because there are so many cringe worthy vlogs out there, but you've certainly set the standard and I might give it a try! By the way, what camera set up were you using? So far, all my videos have been done on a cell phone. Well done! Liked and subbed!
@OneShotAdventures
@OneShotAdventures 5 жыл бұрын
Wow thank you so much, you've made my day! Trust me - vlogging in public never stops being embarrassing! I just see it as a means to an end - it's not only the best storytelling device for this platform, but also a shorthand for your own personality to a video. I use the Sony A7s with a 16-35mm and a 50mm. I also have a Zhiyun Crane gimbal that I used for this video (but rarely use generally). By the way, I would never have guessed your films were shot on a phone!

@@OneShotAdventures I just saw your description and camera list, should have read that first lol. I am a huge camera buff and at one point I had a nice Canon camera with L series lenses that cost and weighed more than the camera. However, after many years of shooting, I slowly stopped taking it out because it was so heavy and I always got a headache after a days shoot. Soon, I did nothing at all. But when cell phones came out with good tech I slowly got back into it and now, my own channel. I would love to get a Sony A7III, but it is so expensive and that is just the body without the lens. Then again, I do miss getting that wonderful bokeh that you have in your beautiful video. I'm a bit torn. Anyhow, I look forward to watching the rest of your videos.
