This is Zion a nine month old Rottweiler. He will be with me for two weeks. Here you will see what I do in the first few minutes and later in the video you will see Zion and I the next morning in our first session together. The first session is the start of our relationship and what I do to encourage engagement.

Great way to show the dog how to play ,but only because you made it fun. We have to be fun else dogs go find it from other dogs which can lead to problems. Lots of that type here in the UK sadly. Thanks Larry : )

Thank you for this video. I have to 2yr. old, German Shepherd male dog. I have watched a lot of your videos. But I couldn't figure out how to get him to look at me. He's getting worse not better. He is leading and I am following. I really need to switch this before calves are born this spring... Thank you so much for all you put out there for us. Love it

Excellent! Love how you restrain from talking. I talk to dogs way too much!! I see just a touch of hacking from the flat collar. That's why I like to start with a prong, it's more gentle on their neck.

If you ever "play" like that in the park you will have the men with butterfly nets show up, LOL Seriously, I love that you can get into it and act silly as this is exactly what that young dog needed! Was worth the drive up from Texas for the owners to get their pup with you! Good Luck with this fella he looks awesome!

Awesome!!!!. You mentioned in one of your videos that you had 3 intact male malinois and that you don't have any problems or fights between, hats off to you, it would be amazing if you could share videos of your dogs and their daily routine and interaction, how come they can live in harmony without any of them picking a fight trying to scale the ladder of alphaness(is that a word?). What happens when you or any member or your family are not around? how do they keep the harmony? do they spend all their time together, free ranging, or only when you are around or not all? I've seen a lot of trainers or behaviorist showing bunch of dogs living and spending time together, but they are neuter, so I suspect that it is not the work they do what makes them behave, I thinking it is kind of cheating, a smoke curtain, the awesome thing it would be to see it in a intact pack, that is real work, that is real magic. Hopefully you can share the process and see video footage...and thanks for your videos

Thank you for this video. I learned several things. I have female Rottweiler 3 years old we just got her about 1 month ago. It has been challenging but she is a sweetheart. And your videos have helped me in a big big way. I am gonna start using your clicker technique as we seem to behave very similar to Zion. I was wondering if you mind sharing what type of treats you use for Rottweilers while training?

Excellent video. I've been looking at a variety of videos trying to gain some insight. Your video is one of the best I've seen. I just adopted a dog on Tuesday. Very nice dog but he slobbered so badly on the way home with him that I had to disinfect my entire car. He's too big for the travel crate I have from my other dog and I can't get anything larger into my car because of how the doors open. Can you provide any solutions so I don't have to return him? He gets along exceptionally with my Belgian malinois mix dog.

I am just started to research about e collar training and many have directed me towards your videos! I had a question before I get started that I can’t seem to find the answer to. Can e collars be used to train both new commands and also correct misbehavior? For example, I want to train better recall and also correct counter surfing. Is this possible? Or should you only use it for one or the other to be successful

How did it go during the puppy phase? We're going to a Rotty kennel later this month to meet our (hopefully) wonderful little Rotty girl! I always wanted one, but I was too young (now I'm 35 and I've 3 kids and a 13 yr long relationship) and in Sweden, that's kinda frowned upon. I'm so pumped though!

@@HKarlsson Well then an early congratulations to you !!!! Puppy phase went great. I followed a lot of what Larry Krohn did. The "place" training and no leash stuff are perfect! My rotty "Bruno" is almost 2 now and is great dog. I'd say I did about 30 min a day for about 3 months and it works great. I should have kept going just to keep him in practice, but he still listens pretty well. I'll probably start up again soon. Enjoy your pup!

What is your opinion on him not lifting his leg at all when he pees? Is he neutered? My rottie would lift his leg as high as he could to pee on everything.
@wonderbubbles4092
@wonderbubbles4092 4 жыл бұрын
My male (intact) didn't start lifting his leg until 13 months. They will grow and mature in their own way and their own time. Humans can't hurry it, but trying to push could hinder confidence. Be patient, it will come

Any reasons why dogs stop and pee on everything Mine does this on walks it’s pretty annoying I mean everything Is that a bad habit or ?
@pickastick7256
@pickastick7256 5 жыл бұрын
its normal..they do this to track their way back home and to mark territory..You should have the dog on heel and release him for like 10 min to sniff and pee and do whatever he wants and then heel again. Works for our unneutered male Rotty
