Of course the company brand plays a major role but seriously, they built their own status and reputation from the ground and up. Such a shame, many groups are constantly held back due to bad management, injuries, and mistreatment which is truly such a shame. I hope the best for GOT7, they struggled and worked extremely hard to get to the position they are in, they may not be the most popular group, but they are up there, it actually shouldn’t even matter about popularity, what matters is the effort and the work ethic, GOT7 are such a hard working group of individuals. Nah things got worse than mere mismanagement for GOT7. Staffs preventing them from making lives, not booking halls so that they had to do the fansign next to trash cans, throwing away the leader’s songs and disencouraging him, etc. There are things only fans know, and I dont expect non-fans to do more research, but I hope at least you dont underestimate what hell they have been through under JYPE

i see what ur saying but what got7 went through was more than just not given a teaser or lack of promotions..in a lot of their lives they had to hide from staff members and forced to start a live in a closet in secret...the company sold tickets for a concert but didnt book the concert place so u can see ahgases hiding behind the dumbster cramped and got7 crying and explaining things..and although u said they didnt go through any sexual or physical abuse..the mental abuse they went through is still very prominent. jyp didnt do anything for got7 when they were found out or harassed from sasaengs and the members had to deal with it themselves. got7 gets gaslighted so much just because they didnt go through the other struggles of other groups but they were still hella mistreated

Got7 was the second K-pop group I ever listened to next to BTS. I knew the two bands had been known to be good friends and I loved their music. I never got the chance to see them perform live. While I'm glad they left when they could after I heard about the mistreatment I was sad to hear about how bad it got. They are and always will be legends. Just because they're not a part of HYPE doesn't mean they're not a band, they bought the rights to the name and promised us that they'll be back.

I wouldn’t say GOT7 were treated “fine” for their first 2 years but it definitely got much worse after 2 years. In the early days, JYP had made so many bad investments that they were heavily in debt by the time GOT7 debuted. They overworked the group early on to pull themselves out of debt. I wouldn’t worry as much about these newer boy groups because yes JYPE does give preferential treatment to GGs but the company also isn’t in the same situation as it was when GOT7 started. There may be some mismanagement but probably not to the same level of mistreatment that GOT7 went through. Already, JYP has been far kinder to Stray Kids since the beginning of their career than they ever were to GOT7.

honestly my biggest concern is that xdinary heroes will be treated as badly as day6. they currently only have on EP out and their single but they've already gotten into a ridiculous scandal that the company dealt with poorly. as for stray kids they are currently the front runners of the 4th gen so i doubt jyp would do much to risk that, and plus he is very kind to the boys. i just hope that they treat the heroes right, they're so young and talented.

JYP follows all his artists ( even those who left the company ) except the GOT7 members. He always insults/mocks them in lives ( imagine how worse it would be off camera ). There was a time when one of the members ( Mark ) was not allowed to meet his family even in his vacation because of some ´plans’ that btw ended up being a fart. They have no creative freedom, if you compare them to other JYP groups, JYP doesn’t let them publish their own songs. They’re censored, a lot of times, JB’s vlives get deleted and they even deleted Yugyeom’s live just because he thanked Aghase ( fandom name). JYP rejects most of their acting, modeling, mc-ing offers ( we know since we were the ones who contacted the shows/directors but they said that the manager is « unreachable « or are just flat-out rejected ) They had to post their own photo teasers and the the MV’s date since the official GOT7 account was dead...and the list goes on. YES! 💯 His era passed by a long time ago. I do not think he knows what the public wants & likes in today's market. Plus, he doesn't want to share any of the profits from the songs with the idols. That would not only give them money, but more importantly, it would give them power. They would have influence & prestige, especially if the song did well. JYP doesn't want that because they need to keep their idols on a level below them so that they always feel that they need their company to survive. It's about control.

The reason that I think there is a difference of treatment between female and male idols when it comes to JYP is that Itzy revealed in a recent interview that JYP himself often comes around and visits the girls while practicing. Yeji said that he would bring them food, little snacks and sometimes even expensive medication(for colds, flus, or just things to boost their health). He would also constantly ask them things like “have you eaten” or “are you guys resting well” or “please don’t get sick” as a fan of the girls I’m glad they are getting such great treatment but I haven’t heard of him doing things like this with any of his male idols. The company itself also has a tendency to promote and spend more time energy and money on their ggs which I just think is unfair towards the hundred if not thousands of male trainees and idols that pretty much signed their youth, if not life, away and trusted the company. I respect your opinion on the subject as I am just expressing how I feel personally and it seems that a decent amount of others also feel. I don’t know the CEO of JYP nor do I know Jin young Park himself so I am simply stating how certain events and situations made me feel a little creeped out by both the company and the artist.

@@rebix6848 the agency literally took most of their money. For concert BAP got pretty decent that's why they are touring a lot (I mean A LOT!!). In Yongguk's autobiography book he even said that he had to work as newspaper boy coz he doesn't have money (during lawsuit. It's that BAD!!). @@mintbows they are a self-producing group formed by jype through a survival show and they all signed their contracts with jype and in these contracts is written that they will have control over their group themselves. That means the music they make is self-produced, they decide when they make comebacks, what type of theme for the comeback, filming, promotions and more the only thing jype can do is destroy their contracts which would cause a lawsuit against jype themselves because there is no reason behind it and it would just take away a huge amount of money considering the fact that skz is very famous nowadays and is still gaining attention. Jype does have some control ober skz but not very much such like other groups. The most things are in the hands of skz themselves. :) and in my opinion they already overshadowed jyp himself and I'm pretty sure they will reach a very very large fanbase around the world because their style is so unique no-one can reach it and it will make a huge impact in the industry of kpop in the future :) proud of the boys^^

It wasn't that simple actually. At least bcoz JYPE not blacklist them just like what SM did toward JYJ and Jessica. Also maybe they already have enough money to settle, so different with ex-T$ artist situation where the most popular group with many world tour and many achievement in the past got payment less than supermarket worker. Also probably bcoz of such incident gave them burden mentally and decide to not comeback into music bcoz it's too traumatized for them. What happen with them after leave doesn't tell someone is more talented than others.

It's not an unpopular opinion, it's a true opinion. The only reason Stray kids is doing so well is because JYP confessed that he was intimidated by them. He also said he was scared they would turn down songs he wrote for them, and him being intimidated is why they have to many self composed and written songs

Okay, a group who is from big 3, trained for jype for many years, made jype known for its global but was not even congractulated once even on their anniversary. Also got7 was always left out whenever jype did random songs or when got7 did everything from their own, they were still not promoted properly, making people to hate them and more, compring them with ther own hoobae. Next , the most important thing is their safety. Its has been years that jype never protected them or take any action necessary like the company did for other jype groups. The member like jackson get his back hurt, hospitalized becz of saesang (no action took), jackson and bambam changed their house many times bcz of saesang despite (no action took), youngjae was followed, disturb right after debut and most likely the same person ( once the person followed him during a sched that youngjae had to use ig to warn them using sns and despite sending mails to jype no action took) . JYPE met with the person that lied abt yj being a bully and release the person, next day the person did again and youngjae was the first time active(2021) that time in 8 years had to stop everything. MADE YUGYEOM WHOS A MINOR DANCE WITH SOMEONE WAY OLDER IN A EROTIC SONG (THIS WAS RIGHT AFTER FEW MONTHS THEY DEBUT) MADE JAYB AND GOT7 WHO WAS ROOKIES ACT IN A DRAMA WHEN THERE WASNT EVEN ANY SURVIVAL SHOWS TO PROMOTE THEM. THEY WERE THEN SAID THE REASON WHY THE DRAMA FLOPPED. OVERWORKED THEM, LIKE OTHER JYPE GROUPS HAD JAPANESE DEBUT ONLY AFTER A YEAR THEY DEBUT, BUT GOT7 HAD THEM THE SAME YEAR. TOO MANY LIVE STAGES, OVERSEAS FAN MEETING UP UNTIL 2019 THAT OF COURSE THEY HAD MANY FANS BUT NOT KCHARTS ACHIEVEMENTS BZ NO PROMOTION BASED ON WHAT THEY ARE. AN IDOL GROUP NOT ONLY TO GIVE FAN SERVICE. YOU GUYS MIGHT THINK, EH AT LEAST THEY ARE POPULAR HAVE BILLBOARD ACHIEVEMNTS, YES WE DONT DENY IT. BUT GOT7 IS KOREAN GROUP AND LATER THEY WILL THINK BACK, HOW NICE IT WOULD BE FOR OUR NAME TO THE SAME LINE AS THE SENIORS. THEIR ALBUMS WERE SABOTAGED, COMEBACK WEEK WAS ONLY TWO WEEKS AND THEY GRADUALLY STARTED TO LET GOT7 ONLY FEW FANSIGNS WITH FANS, LESSER FREEDOM TO DO VLIVES, ZERO CONTENTS FOR THE TIME THEY DONT HAVE A CB. EVEN DURING A CB, IT SEEMS LIKE GOT7 HAVE NO CBS BCZ OF THE LACK OF INFORMTION WE GET. , THEIR FINAL ALBUM WITH JYPE WAS ONLY 1 WEEK WHICH IS 3 MUSIC SHOWS. IF OTHER GROUPS WILL BE GIVEN NOTICE THAT ITS THEIR LAST STAGE, AHGASES WERE NOT. THEY WERE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO TALK WITH US AT ALL DURING THAT COMEBACK WHICH WAS LAST YEAR (NOV 2020 WHICH IS AFTER 8 MONTHS OF HIATUS). *GOT7 WAS STILL MISTREATED, MISMANAGED LIKE OTHER GROUPS BUT THE METHOD WAS DIFFERENT. True, IGOT7 is among the big fandom international. But, they is underrated in Korea. We can see between international chart and korean chart. They can grow this much most because of themselves and not to forget their fandom, ahgase did a great job promoting Got7.
