Possibly the most bizarre theory comes from a popular internet meme, which suggests the ultimate way to bring down the Mad Titan is to have Ant-Man sneak his way into Thanos' backside and explode out of him like a big purple balloon. As absurd and humorous as it may seem, could this plan actually work? Kyle enters the quantum realm to find out just how worried Thanos should be in this week's Because Science!

Hey, Super Nerds! So many comments...I'm sorry , the internet made me do it. *For the corrections* concerning using the car launch when the care is the largest: because Ant-Man physics is very inconsistent with what happens at what size, I went with constant pressure rather than constant force because otherwise at the smallest sizes, an enlarging Ant-Man or Wasp would literally punch through the ground (or people) they stood on. I know it’s weird, but I think it works. Also, if we don’t do that and assume constant force, when the tiny car looks like it starts actually pushing on the Yukon, I checked, and the pressures would still be within Thanos-survivable ranges. -- kH

Antmans "powers" in the MCU are ridiculously inconsistent. Like I think it's directly said he's supposed to retain his mass when changing size, which allows for punches to be effective while tiny. But then he flies on an arrow or runs on top of a gun that someone is holding which would not be possible if he retained his mass.

Yeah, same thing with the tank keychain from the first Ant-man movie. If you tried to use a 60 ton tank as a keychain, it would still retain its mass and be WAY too heavy to lift. Sure, the tank would be a lot smaller, but it still weighs 60 tons! You couldn’t just put it in your pocket and carry it around with you - that would be impossible. Still, it does make for a pretty cool scene, so I guess I can forgive the movie for that. Lol! 😂

In Endgame, Antman expands to displace enormously large chucks of solid concrete and other rubble when he saves the avengers trapped below the destroyed base. So I think the Russo Brothers were very clear that yes antman could have killed Thanos by expanding in his butt.

That's why Dr Strange was shaking his head while watching the visions. Strange was expecting all sorts of awesome action packed fights involving super powers and alien weapons. He wasn't expecting a vision in great graphic detail of Ant-Man shrinking down, going up into Thanus's butt, growing not just to normal size but giant size. But because Thanos is indestructible, Ant-Man instantly turns to mush. All that mush has to go somewhere, so Thanos suddenly finds himself excreting with such thrust that he finds himself launching 50 feet into the air.

I get the feeling that if antman were to try this and expands, he will just end up launching himself out the entrance (or exit) with the PSI. Pressure must be released, and bodies are very much designed to use pressure outlets.

If he can get on the micrometer scale allowing him to go through cells, then couldn't he technically get in the middle of the colon tissue and then grow? Would that or would that not produce enough force to move the cells out of the way creating a tear in the colon tissue big enough to allow bacteria to pass through?

Sadly - or is it hilariously - if Thanos has all six Infinity Stones and they haven't been super-nerfed compared to their comic book counterparts, it just takes Thanos being giddy with his "godhood" for this to be the most likely scenario. Yeah, bad me; I haven't watched either film yet (they're on my 'To Do' list XP). I just know that in the comics, defeating Thanos relied mostly on psychology... including convincing him to "turn off" aspects of his Infinity Stone-fueled powers, which included knowing the future.

Also, if we ignore the fact that he went through a building at the end of endgame, you do not take into count the fact that during the car chase, the car does not make contact with the car at full size. Instead the van is a much smaller size, still excepting the same amount of force on the car, making it seem more obvious for the psi to increase by some degree.

When the car is small, there is less surface area. So the PSI would have to be much higher. Even setting aside for the moment if Antman could expand hard enough to kill Thanos. you're forgetting something VERY crucial: Time. Unless Thanos explodes to death instantly, he'd just simply alter reality or teleport Antman someplace else. Any plan that does not kill Thanos instantly or removing the gauntlet is doomed at the outset. Thor cleaves Stormbreaker really far into the guy's chest and Thanos is still able to snap his fingers. Also, the instant Thanos felt the expansion happening he's naturally by reflex, clamp down with his butt muscles. Remember, Thanos has the power infinity stone. Antman ain't doing squat against a butt clamp like that.
