I hope you enjoy! Thanks for all the encouragement to make more of these videos. They are so time consuming to create, so I aim to make just one per year. But I do make shorter videos! Lovely video! About the birds, they probably stayed away from your first DIY birdbath because the bottom was black. As you discovered later on, birds often look for specific water depths to bathe in, and before you put the gravel in they probably thought the water was much too deep!

@@Mochies_are_mandatory They did specify *these* birds- as in the backyard bird feeder/ birdbath birds featured in this video specifically- not speaking of all birds, generally. 😉 I'm sure they understand that there are indeed many birds that do swim.

I absolutely ADORE the magic and positive energy of the becorns. They are free spirits. I wished you also wrote children books and added your amazing drawings and your delicate stories. They would become classics.

That's definitely a great idea!!! ❤️ But I think they should be children's books with his real photography instead of drawings. Kids love real life nature photos... But these would have his whimsical twist and creative storyline!!

I wish my grandmother was alive to see your channel - it is everything I loved about her. She loved wildlife and wee folk. She taught us to make our own toys with items from the woods. Mostly we made homes in roots, etc. Becorns would be JUST the wee folk she'd have loved.

@@thenightporter Thank you! I see his little Becorns and it reminds me of making mud pies for the frogs and snails in my back yard as a child. I remember using acorn hats for little cups for them. But even though I grew up in an oak grove, I never made anything like a Becorn. Lol I’m just enamored with them! And I send them to my granddaughter sometimes❤️🤗🐝

I LOVE that Becorns are wandering around the remote forests where people haven't found their way to. Their world may be challenging when they have to defend against the squirrels, but still magical and forever interesting. 🥰

David, I’m a huge fan of your Becorn and photography. I decided to try making a Becorn for myself to place in a Thanksgiving table centerpiece. To my delight my first Becorn was a success. Your Becorns are whimsical and delightful. They take me back to my childhood and memories of reading May Gibs Snugglpot and Cuddlepie. Stories about gumnut babies. You have made your sketches dance right off the page and into real life. Have you thought about turning your photos into storry books or even stop motion shorts? Children and adults would love them. ❤🐨

I love your Becorns, they're so sweet and imaginative. You live in a forest wonderland, with all the trees, birds, and other wildlife. For your next project, I think you should put several Becorns in the pool, some swimming, others sunbathing on the rocks. Then, when the birds join in, it'll look like a big pool party!

I watched your channel for the first time and loved the Becorns and lots of love to you for creating them. They look as real as human and a delight to watch. You create such a magical story by your photos which looks just like watching a beautiful animation movie. I try to always encourage people to care for a birdbath. It's such a delight, even if you live next to a natural body of water. They love their own secluded spot. Once I was fortunate enough to witness 7 different types of birds In The Bath all taking turns at bathing. Bought tears to me... if the birds can get along like that, certainly we can too. ?? It was during a severe drought. Since, I've seen 2 or 3 types in at once but 7... was a sight. Thanks for your videos, love them! 🍂🕊🍂

I recently learned about a term called a "Glimmer"...Glimmers are those moments in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace or gratitude... Your work is really adorable. It reminds me of an old children's book, that I loved so much. "Die Wurzelkinder". In the fifties it was a Christmas gift of my aunt Now I am 73 but I never forgot the beautiful pictures of plants, flowers, insects and other creatures which passed the winter sleeping underground. In springtime they all appeared with fresh colours and power to bring new life and joy to the people. You give me so much joy with your lovely work😊❤

Oh I love all the solutions to your challenges so the small changes made all the difference! And I absolutely love all the ideas sketched out, you should definitely do the boat with the cargo being stolen that ones very cute The wet becorn one also sounds cute! The final photos turned out great! I’m happy the birds were able to enjoy themselves in the nice water

So sweet! We have a birdbath right outside our front windows and my husband and I love to watch the birds taking a dip or getting a nice drink during our hot Texas summers. We especially love this family of Blue Jays that visit daily...I never really knew how beautifully their tail feathers are patterned, just so majestic!

haha....I was watching a blue bird do the "submarine" in our bird bath.....tucked his head under the water and pushed himself through it all the way to the other side, wings flapping ! 😆 ....love our bird bath ! My husband and I moved into a cabin in the woods and when we first saw the place there were a TON of acorns on the ground and decks. So we named the place Acorn Falls. Wonderful and just so lovely. Our eldest son is named Silas, and when he was little, he's now 16, and he loved watching wildlife. Especially birds in and around birdbaths. He was so curious and excited. Your Silas reminds me of ours. When we have the funds, we will get this print for him. ❤

Love every bit, David, especially the childlike joy and wonder of REAL things. Might sound odd, since BeCorns are fantastical, but friendship, compassion, beauty, LIFE is REAL, and we have a generation, or more, of children who are separated from the reality you show in your work. I just love your videos even though im a woman in my mid sixties. I was rewatching one of your videos this past summer while my 12 yr old daughter was swimming in the pool. Immediately she ran over to exclaim “are you watching the becorns!” She then enjoyed the show with me. I had introduced her to your videos when she was younger and apparently she’s still a subscriber ❤️🙏 thank you for bringing our childhood imagination to the foreground if only for a minute.

Oh I love this !!! I love watching birds of any kind play in water. My daughter has a bunch of ducks and chickens, she has an old lady duck named Garyetta (was Gary until she laid an egg), she is a big white duck and has an adorable waddle, she is the boss and mother’s everyone ! The pond was almost dry so they filled up cement mixing tubs for them to play in, watching her take a bath and fluff her wings was so adorable!! When I filled the tubs with fresh water I would put the nozzle on the shower mode and she would swim over to get under the spray and point her beak up and do a dance…..the chickens were not impressed ! Blessings
