Жыл бұрынHoney Bees colonize Mr. Vernon's boat down in Luling, Louisiana. Not the first time I've seen this & definitely won't be the last. These went right in through the drain plug opening & built comb in the floor next to the transom. Vernon told me to cut the floor open & remove what was there & that he'd fix the floor, no problem, so that's just what we did.

Good to see you, JP. It's been a while. That was some beautiful comb. The lesson here, drain your boat then put the plug back in place to keep the bees out. Very cool of Vernon to realize killing the hive wouldn't have been a good option... getting them relocated was they way to go, even if the floor had to be cut.

Great work JP. Getting the queen out of a boat is a huge win. Boat removals are some of the most challenging ones I’ve done.

@25:32 JP observing that there wasn't much left for the bees to build more comb was his way of saying: "You're gonna need a bigger boat!" 🦈 It was probably just a coincidence that the last comb section he removed looked a bit like a megalodon tooth. 😆
