The trick to to this challenge is to get the Rosti going first then attend to the scallop. Otherwise you'll never get the rosti cooked

Agreed. And these are professional chefs and I'm just a home cook. I learned how to make rosti from a Swiss friend back in the 80s. It became a standard after swimming lessons dinner in our house: rosti, fried eggs and baked beans followed by stewed apples and custard. Dinner, bath, story and bed in an hour for 4 kids and then veg out with the telly

Non of them squeezed the excess water out of the potatoes to make the rosti. Common sense - what cooks faster, potatoes or scallops, yet each of them opened the scallops before starting on the rosti 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@@barbara1407 Exactly, it's very basic sequence planning that any home cook knows. The only reason I can think of for those _professionals_ to forget the very elementary sequence planning is that they must have thought 'I better start with the scallop 1st, potatoes & onions are more straightforward'. Just trying to find a reason, not excuse: the fact that they messed up such basic aspect of cooking is inexcusable for a professional cook.

Fear and panic. That's probably the only reason they messed them up so badly. We can say what sequence they should have done it at home, but I can't imagine going in there with no preparation and only having 10min. I would need 20 min to make the rusti alone.

Look, i can barely cook an egg but i have watched enough of these shows to know that these guys should be able to make a lemon tart. They really had to have been looking for contestants they expected to fail with some actual good chefs sprinkled in.

The ONLY good series! No disrespect, no dominance based remarks and great cooking! Absolutely hate every other variant of this concept! Watching it still at season 16!

My preference is this one too for the same reasons baring the Aussie one. The reason I don’t watch that one is because they take “slap each other on the back” to a whole new level. No disrespect or bravado either but just wet as water. They all probably take baths together and council each other on how to be all they can be whilst buttering each other’s parsnip. 🤮😂

I can not see why Greg says. I´ll cant eat the rosti because it´s undecooked/ raw? As long as the rösti hits the pan for 30-40 sec, it´s ok. You don´t die tasting it???

My interpretation of Beef Bourguignon is slowed cooked for like 8 hours? Ludovic goes through after saying from the start that he is a c**t to work for in a kitchen and as per usual the 6 figure ££ paid by the BBC Wallace continues to parrot Monica/Stalin and Michel whilst stuffing his fat face with food! 😂
