As a beginner in beekeeping I built a log beehive to avoid the cost of a manufactured beehive. The honey bees have been delivered although things did not go to plan, the log beehive now has a population of bees.
48+hrs after the bees have been delivered and the beehive seems to be to the bees liking as they are still in the beehive and appear to be settling in nicely.
Although the delivery was predominantly an overall success there was one unexpected stumbling block in that the Beehive frames in the nuc box did not quite fit as they were intended to. Resulting in bit of a bodge job to get the important frame in to the log hive. Never the less the swarm is in the hive and seem to be content in their new home so far.
This project has been a real learning curve and certainly inspired me to look further in to the keeping of bees and will most likely result in me building a few more beehives in the future as the curiosity grows.
Many thanks for viewing and I hope my experience is of some benefit . Until next time, Cheers.
