I spend lots of time traveling in New Mexico. A few miles west of Route 66 is Sky city Casino. The RV park is $18 a night if you mention the trucker special. Full hook ups. Large pull through sites. Pool and spa, great restaurant and casino. Includes showers in the truck stop next door. Laundromat and a dollar tree. It’s a great place to stay!!

@@freewayfuzz8160 I stay here a lot. They also have a big lot behind the hotel/casino that you can boondock in. The rv park isn’t super fancy but big clean sites, beautiful views and there is shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off at casino. When you check in they say it’s $25 a night but if you mention the billboard price it drops to $18. The pool and spa are at the casino but it is included with rv stays. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby.

Eric I'm a big fan of your channel for many years. As a Floridian living on the east coast for over 50 years living inland and not near the ocean coast the hurricanes weaken inland and our 101 year old wood house we moved in year 1985 is still standing and not even a broken window and we live 20 miles from the ocean. The most damage is the homes on the beaches and near it. If I was you I would of still traveled the east coast and it's still too early for a hurricane. If a hurricane heads your way on the east coast you can always head west and the meteorologist always know several days ahead when a hurricane is coming. My family never leave our house in a Florida hurricane. We live inland on higher land that doesn't flood and one year we had a big category 5 hurricane and we stayed in our house and no damage to the house but plenty of tree stuff and branches on the ground and we even got lucky and didn't lose our power and lights that time but other parts of the city did lose their electricity.

No hidden fees when you get there and that the Pool/ Spa, Etc are opening tomorrow (Friday the 17th of May) for the summer.. Also the $25 security deposit is refunded to you upon check out. So that $$ you were speaking about is not quite right. Please let me know if you got the deposit back when you checked out? We are planning on staying there in late summer...

One of the problems with an RV park like that is that people will continue to patronize them even knowing full well that they do not provide the facilities as advertised. Enough said about that. As far as your pizza is concerned, I buy those on occasion, when they’re on sale in my area for around $3.97. Now I know full well that they don’t taste that good out of the box, so I always purchase a bag of shredded cheese, a bag of sliced pepperoni, and I also get those bags of bacon bits from Costco that you can buy. I’ll then dress up my pizza so that I know it’s gonna taste good and I’ll enjoy it.

Did you ask them if they had opened the pool for the season or if they plan to??? Around here(the south east) no one opens their pools until Memorial Day. Which is May 27th this year. So I quit buying them. I was really excited when you pulled that thin crust digornio out !

RVing was a retirement plan for the baby boomers without a big stash. This, and Covad, put stress on the RV industry - higher demand, higher costs, higher insurance as people sue/ Not a big margin in RV parks and it caters to the wide variety of people which isn't always a good thing. RV parks starting being homes to more, thus they raised the prices to take advantage of that as any lower priced RV parks would get hundreds of RVer when they found out filling it. So the whole industry repriced at twice the price it was before Covad. Hotel prices went up quite a bit, nothing below $100.

That sucks that the pool was still not open, I guess they just don't have the business in the RV section...however, if they opened all those things maybe they would get the business! duh to the casino owners. Maybe try the walmart pizza? I think that's the brand. It's only $4.44 here in Phoenix and it's good...but I don't like those others so it just depends on taste, I just got a bacon ranch one and it's yummy!

The reason the casino does what the casino does is not because it's better or worse for travelers, it's because of $$$. Keeping, managing, supplying, insuring, staffing, cleaning and providing those services are no longer financially advantageous for them. It doesn't have anything to do with positive or negative emotions or a slap in the face to RVer's. They simply can't operate a business and provide everything you want or expect in today's market condition(s). You'd be shocked to know how lean most hospitality co.'s have to run their operations to barely break even. Scary times! Safe travels Eric--
