Welcome to our Nova Hey You Reaction!!! This is our latest video reaction from our new music reaction channel Beer’s & Bars. Here we listen, react, and breakdown bars while enjoying some of our favorite beers. Today we continue the HOG Journey by peeping the Queen of the Fam with the Nova Hey You Joint! This was direct on so many levels and makes you feel kind of sorry for who was on the receiving end of this fiery track!! It’s been said “you don’t wanna get a woman fed up”. Nova brought out the big guns by lyrically taking off the heads of the label who tried to control her creative process as an artist!! Nova shows why she is her own boss and she is gonna continue to set the trends in her own way!! For those taking notes this is what independency looks like front and center!! The Queen is here!! You have to watch “Problem”!!! But the line: “Do you like my style? I got it from somebody I killed…Do you like my smile? I got it from the blood that I spilled.” I think that was her saying that she killed the old Nova they were trying to mold her into and she enjoyed killing that version of her immensely.

When she uncovers the piano, it's her return to music after a very long pause. Wishing Well is an older song that is savage and you'll see angry Nova 2.0 in WISHING WELL - I'd say this was the first punch at her bad memories from her time at DEF JAM and HEY YOU was her return "I'M BACK!!" middle finger to them. Nova was signed to Def Jam, a while back. They were grooming her tobe a ‘Brittany Spears/Beastie Boys’ hybrid. This is not who Nova is but it was the Nova they wanted. When they dropped her from the label, they stabbed her in the back (she found out when the apartment manager told her the label wasn’t paying her rent). She swore she would never touch a keyboard again - That is the significance of the piano in the video, she is ready to play it again but as the “New and True” Nova. If you replace “HEY YOU” with “Yo, Def Jam 🖕🏼”, you get a sense of what Message Nova is trying to convey to them. #hangovergang forever 🤘🏻🤘🏿🤘🏼🤘🏽

Tom produced this for her and also wrote the hook and gave it to her for the song, they are Tom and Nova a great team .

I never heard him say he wrote the hook for her, but he definitely made the beat for her. Maybe I missed where he said that he wrote the hook, though.

Lazers is a good one. She removed the sheet from the piano because Def jam had broken her and she vowed to never make music again and this is her showing them she's back!!

Did you catch that it was produced by Tom? Other dope Nova tracks include, but are not limited to: "Dear Nova", "Problem", ""Call Me Batman", and a track with Tom and Adam called "Smoke" from "The Brave" album (it has a fan made video, but is fine to react to since it's off the one album fully available digitally. He won't strike you). "Smoke" is absolute 🔥. #HOG

Nova is killing off her old self that Def Jam wanted to be. Wishing Well is another song aimed Def Jam. Problem is also an awesome Use the studio version where she wearing flip flops not the official version. Dear Nova is hard and deep. Did your best is about her family. Great reaction again! I had just watched your "Don't Look Down" reaction and had to watch this one. This song is🔥 and honestly, it should be a hit soundtrack to an Action movie. Her other favorite of mine is "Problem" the one she does in flip-flops at the "Cosmic Zoo Studios" it's a banger, and another illustration of her ability to rap rap💪 + the beat is hard. For your first Nova song you got it, this was Nova's comeback song, after being treated badly by Def Jam she said she wouldn't Rap again, the uncovering of the piano is her way of saying she's back. Def Jam tore her down- "Took the knife out her back as she cut through her wrist, Everything hurt, didnt want to exist, I was born in the blood with her name on my lips" .. first line tells you all about what this song is about.. She was broken when Def Jam Screwed her over and she picked herself and and rebuilt herself for HER. She got her style and smile from the Old Nova...

Nova is awesome! Her song "Wishing Well" is also directed at Def Jam and is hard AF! It's pretty short, but the imagery and word play is next level! Something to keep in mind during the song is that it used to be traditional in some cultures to put one coin over each eye of a dead person, so that they could pay the toll to cross the river of the dead. Other great songs are "Did Your Best" , "Problem" (make sure it's the video where she's wearing flip flops), "Jesus On My Kneck", "Ghengis Khan" She also has a feature in Tom's song "No Good Bastards" that is CRAZY!

In my humble opinion, Nova is the best female rapper in the game today. Unfortunately, due to her past experiences and her anxiety, she doesn’t realize it. One day, she’s going to unlock something in her brain and it’s gonna be on. After No Good Bastards was released, Tom said Nova is the best rapper he knows. He may be right.

Deae Nova, Wishing Well and Hey you kind of go hand in hand. Dear Nova goes over many bad things in her past. Wishing Well is her in the midst of dealing with those issues and her anger at Def Jam. Hey You is is basically Nova rising from the Ashes as her true self, leaving the past behind in triumph. It is her Phoenix song.

Great Reaction Guys! If you want another Nova song suggestion you should do "Gang Gang Ft. Tom Macdonald." If you want a good laugh go to her newest channel Not Nova Rockafeller and watch her do a Reaction Video to Ghost with Tom sitting next to her (annoying her as usual). They also have a funny video there where they call radio stations back in their home town in Canada and try and get them to play Ghost on the radio and they do succeed! So funny!

Love your reactions ;) If you like stromae there are two more essentials you absolutly must react to : -stromae - ta fête -stromae - carmen (which is about social medias) Also you should react to orelsan feat stromae - la pluie (just for the feat of stromae ^^) And to finish another great french artist (even if stromae is belgian) : mylène farmer - désenchantée If you want to react to these, you HAVE TO react to the music videos (it's a a necessity for the songs and the cinematography if you know what I mean). You get so many comments this may have been covered but she says her style is from someone that she killed referencing the "her" they wanted her to be. Metaphorically killing that version of herself. HOG for life! Check out Gang Gang, her dedication to/with Tom.
