I tried melting some beeswax into the sole edges of a pair of old Frye Addison boots. I share the process in this video.

Looks great, kinda like a Nicks natural color just a tad darker, I might try this on my Nicks in the future, thanks for the tip

That makes a big difference. I did essentially the same thing to a pair of Overlanders with a natural sole. Looks sooo much better!

Nice! Maybe I should do it on a pair of Nicks too.

Yeah, beeswax smells amazing. I do this with a 50/50 mix of beeswax and coconut oil

Those look great. I liked the natural edge, too. I have that same issue with the leather exposed sole area on half-sole boots. May need to try this. Are the uppers painted or is this like Chromexcel? Chromexcel doesn't look as great to me now that I'm more used to all veg tan, oiled, and waxed leathers.

Not CXL. Just some overly corrected super thin chrome tanned leather. Zero pull up. You can even see the shoe tree pushing out the side of the vamp. Super thin stuff. Comfy but not good quality. Think of something more like a sneaker. Zero arch support, which is my main problem with them now.

That DOF is too shallow. Half the time we're losing focus anytime there's movement. Good info though. Thanks!
