Beetroot Murukk Recipe | Tea Snack Recipe - Murukk
Ingredients :
Raw rice : 1/2 kg
Black gram : 150g
Beetroot : 1 nos
Curry leaves
Garlic : 5 to 6 nos
Salt : 2 tsp
Oil : 1/2 L
Method:
Today we’re going to make beetroot pakkavada
For that first,
Wash the raw rice and keep it aside for draining the water
Now roast the black gram and set it aside
Then peel the beetroot and wash it and then cut it in to tiny pieces and keep it in a plate and take some curry leaves and garlic along with it and set it aside
Now take the washed raw rice and grind it in a grinding stone ,
Then keep it in a plate
Now grind the roasted black gram in a grinder stone and set aside
Then strain the grinded raw rice powder and then roast it in a pan and then remove from fire and keep it aside
Now grind the beetroot, curry leaves and garlic in a grinding stone and make a smooth paste out of it
Now squeeze the beetroot paste and keep it in a strainer and collect the beetroot juice from it
Then mix the raw rice flour and black gram flour together and add salt and mix with hand
Now add the beetroot juice slowly and mix the flour make a dough out of it
Then take a sevanazi / idiyappam presser and fill it with the dough
Now keep small pieces of banana leaves on top of the table and squeeze the presser and make a round structure
The heat oil in a pan and put this in it and fry
Beetroot pakkavada is ready to be served
