ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I first swung a golf club at age 17, now I’m 44 and in all those years I would reach for my 7 iron when I was 150 yards from the green. Consistent and reliable yardage but inconsistent with my alignment. After watching this video I’ve added 30-40 yards on every iron! Now I’m reaching for my pitching wedge to get me on the green from 150 yards not my 7 iron because that’s landing about 185 yards away now. This video has given me so much confidence in my irons I just leave my driver in the bag and swing my irons because they go straight and long. Thank you Danny!

Been working really hard at hitting irons better this summer of '23. I watched your work with Peter Cowan and numerous others. Been applying the "hit" more with the right as Peter describes but I don't own it yet, at least not fully. But what has worked is "lagging" the club head and shoulders. This alone gives me time to move the hips toward the target and back up at the same time. The left leg presses down at first and then up for a nice finish. Yesterday was by far one of the very best sessions at the range. Striking my 9 iron so well that I was passing my 125 yd. target, with range balls. With a ProV1 on a warm day with little moisture in the air it would be loads of fun. But the point is my ball striking is back. I can hear it in the "hit" and see it in the ball flight and distance. All this with a very bad right knee and 72 years young. I can basically eliminated the right knee altogether, it has little to no function. Not so sure this will work with driver since it requires more depth in the back-swing thus more pressure on the right knee but I'm patient and will find a way to work around it.

In my practice swing I almost always hit turf behind imaginary ball so this drill really helps remind me of forward movement necessary. People love to say ‘keep your head down’ but ‘keep your spine angle consistent’ would be a better comment, do you agree? thanks Danny! I don't think anyone could ever be a great golfer without understanding this lesson. Got to strike the ball well with your irons to be consistent and take a divot in front of the ball. I like the idea of a few practice swings to check the blades of grass. It sounds so simple but don't do it at all. When I miss, I almost always am hitting ground about three inches behind the ball. I have been looking for tips to be more consistent and trying super hard to make sure I am taking those divots.

Usually don’t comment on videos, but your channel deserves it. Thanks for all of the content. It’s helping a beginner golfer like myself tremendously. Also, please give props to your videographer/editor. The overlays help so much.

I love your videos, thank you for sharing all this content to help improve people's games. I was just curious how you get your videos to show that cool blue circle to show your club path. What program do you use. ?If I could record my own little blue circle I could take my game to the next level. Thank you.

Thanks for your advice Danny, last weekend I was on a weekend away at St Andrews and it went well. It was very windy so I played a lot of irons off the tee, as you say when it’s breezy swing it easy. My handicap is down 3 shots thanks to you videos. 🎉

Love it, Danny, super simple. An old Carolina golf pro (Don Trahan) used to teach “setup determines the motion”. To that we could add “ rhythm and tempo determines the quality”.

I generally strike my irons correctly and I do take a divot in front of the ball but now and again I hit it fat. This is an excellent explanation why. I would make 2-3 practice swings making sure my low point is in front of the ball then still hit it fat. Can't wait to try this out on the course. Keep up the great work Danny!😀

I love Danny's videos. So clear, concise, and very good at demonstrating, not just explaining the process. Up to the 6-iron, my strike and ball flight is pretty consistent. 5-iron down, and especially with woods, it's not as good. And with driver, it's terrible!! Connection with the ball is ok, but the ball flight and control is all over the place!

@@DanielMaude Had a session on the range yesterday applying this technique, and gained 10 yards with short irons, and 15 with mid-irons. Still working on getting that circle right for the woods and longer clubs. My right shoulder seems to activate early on the downswing - prompting a shovel-type motion (?) so I have an out to in path. I can control the fade sometimes, but need a better fix to get the high draw. My body is also doing the work, and there’s no snap with the arms and wrists. Can you help?

I’ve had a problem with not striking balls solidly and hitting thin and fat for too long. I will work to adopt your drill of swinging without changing distance/circle of clubhead. And what I want to focus on is the feel of the clubhead bruising the turf and the resulting beautiful sound your club made has it clipped off just a few blades of grass. I need to make that “swish” sound with my club which should hopefully tell me I’m getting much closer to hitting the ball first, turf after. Thank you.

Amazing. Exactly what I've been experimenting with these past weeks. Asking myself questions like, "how does the club naturally want to lie, and while in this "balance" state, how do my hands and arms naturally grab the grip. My appreciation for a golf clubs physical ergonomics have never been so high x) Thnks for the vids. Great content.

Hi Danny, Great video as always. I'm really struggling with my iron play. Have lost perhaps 20 yds in distance across all irons. I will try and ensure that I have my hands set forward as in your step 2. Does the amount of forward set change depending on the iron? Less for a 4-iron vs. more for an 8-iron? One other question. With the irons, what is your point of focus? Just ahead of the ball at the desired low point, or the ball? Thanks!
