Thank you so much for sharing your tips of how to setup a trail camera in the garden. I have just bought one. And I have to admit. I think I put it way to high. I live next to a field. But it says in the instructions not to aim towards a field. Is this true? Because I think I'd capture more if I did aim towards a field? Also, the times I have been filming is between 23:00 - 04:00. Is that the best times? I know I have some feral cats around. And pheasants. But I'm hoping to capture more than that. Though pheasants can be interesting to sometimes.

So glad you've enjoyed our video! As most trail cameras are manufactured for the American deer-hunter market they are often suggested to be put quite high. But for the wildlife that we tend to capture in the UK (badgers, foxes, stoats) they're all quite low animals so around a metre or two off the ground and tilted slightly downwards should work well! I would try looking for tracks that animals make amongst nearby scrub and vegetation, or rocks/tree stumps they may scent mark on to position the camera, the edge of the field, for example, might work well as it might be a natural corridor for wildlife? It may struggle to pick up a whole field as I imagine it will only be able to ick up heat/movement of a certain distance. Hope that helps :) Sally
